OnefastDC5's err....... fast DC5!!!!! (56k no way)
Hey guys -
Thought since I posted my little silver RSX XMOD in the member garage, I may as well post my real silver RSX as well! This is my 2003 Satin Silver Metallic RSX Type S. Current mods installed are: Injen Cold Air Intake Spoon Torque Damper Cusco Front & Rear Strut Tower Bars DC Shorty Header Soon to arrive: Greddy TI-C Catback Exhaust Hondata K-PRO Engine Management Solution JDM Integra Type-R Lip Kit & Emblems And my favorite mod: FIXING THE NUMEROUS DENTS FROM BEING A PARKING LOT TARGET The first three pics are of my baseline dyno pull a few days after I had the car. (I get a smile every time I think about dynoing a car that still has temp tags.) Stock it runs 189 WHP and 135 WTQ. Haven't been back on the dyno since, but the intake and header have made a noticeable improvement, especially on the high end. Just can't wait to get K-PRO installed so I can finally get past my 8300 RPM rev limiter and get this thing screaming past 9000. Rest of the pics were from detailing it last weekend. Thanks to Slowmotion Motorsports in Columbus, Ohio for the parts and dyno service!

Nice and clean DC! I haven't heard anyone with a Honda running Cusco strut bars until now. How do you like them? A buddy of mine is trying to talk me into buying a set from Cusco, but I am not sure how they perform with a Honda.

I'm very happy with the Cusco product. The car is noticeably more responsive to quick steering inputs. I can't imagine that for this application the Cusco does any better or worse than one that you might get from a competitor like DC, Skunk2, Progress, etc. I got the cusco cause they were an inexpensive used set from ebay. I don't think I'd pay full price for them Cusco stuff is ungodly expensive. What kind of honda do you have?

I also know I need a drop, but just doing the springs are a bad choice for me - I live in cleveland, and having a lowered car is tough in the winter. I'm saving up for the fully adjustable buddy club N+ dampers. Quote:

thats a pretty sweet car. Was the injen intake cheaper or just a personal choice?

There's pretty much only three solid CAI choices for this car, Injen, AEM and Fujita. With the AEM, you have to move the windshield washer bottle to the other side of the car, which is a pain. The Injen and Fujita come with smaller replacement reservoirs, so the installation is a lot easier. The fujita is about 30 bucks cheaper, but the Injen is a bit larger in diameter, and the gains were a bit better too. Regardless, the K20 motor is super responsive to bolt ons - it's amazing what a difference it makes at the top end once the cams switch over. Plus it now sounds like it coming out of the gates of hell at wide open throttle.
