Exclamation Xmod Rumor A Phony!

i sent in a message to RS to ask about the whole XMODS being replaced by Propulse. here is what she said:

Thank you for taking the time to write. XMODS and ProPulse are two
entirely different RC Lines. XMODS will continue after the holidays with
new models and features to be introduced in 2007.

ProPulse is a new 1:18 scale RC platform based on performance and
off-road racing. It is planned for release late this fall

AWESOME NEWS! NOTICE NEW MODELS AND NEW FEATURES WAHOO

Smile sure, no problem

you are welcome guys. i emailed the lady back and she said tha propulse is going to be more high end product than xmods. she said that they would cost about 130 dollars, and between 10 to 50 dollars for upgrades on them. i asked about new models in 2007 and she didn't have a clue. so, i hope i cleared this up.

Happy Modding!

I heard from (think it was on here) somewhere that the first models are going to be one car and one truck at launch.

That's nice to know, I was about to go and buy as many xmods and accessories as I could.

I can't wait to see what the new Xmods will look like.

Yeah, I really don't care much for Propulse...cost to much for me to afford.

...
New models for 2007? Which?

Propulse, honestly, sounds ok...but i think that they will merely be entering a pretty packed genre of RC cars...xmods everyone likes cuase they are small enough to carry with ease and are perfect for indoors and whatnot, but big enough to upgrade. Perfect for the casual rc enthusiaist...but 1/18 has alot of upgrade potential and things can get expensive, so unless they come out with something good, it will probably end up being "that starter brand", if you know what I mean.

the propulse sounds like radioshacks version of a mini-t, or rc18t, or another off-road vehicle like that. those are both 1:18 scale, and the propulse sounds like it will be a off-road only stadium truck. the bodys might be prepainted generic lexan, and they would probably be able to accept aftermarket parts designed for 1:18 scale in general, like tires bodies motors and batteries, and electronics. the $130 price is pretty reasonable for the product. that sounds exciting.

as for the xmods, probably some of the best news ive heard in months. hopefully they release more muscle-style bodies, and more of everything in general. and updated chassis would be nice too, maybe with a carbon fiber complete chassis upgrade and more race-oriented features.
