Default Project: "Free 'Low'der" (56K Death)

alright guys, here is the latest work in progress at Noturday Customs.
Project: Free 'Low'der (pronounced free-loader)

reason for the title: i have not payed anything for this xmod truck as of yet, and i plan to keep it that way, only using parts and supplies that i have already. the "low" part should be self explanatory.

the story: i have wanted to slam a titan xmod since they came out, but never had the right parts to make it look how i wanted, i got this titan from my friend, it was bone stock with the exception of not even having a motor or rear dogbones when i got it. i used my $35 XI shopping spree from winning a competition for body kit parts and stuff for this truck (special thanks to Chris @ XI for that), the only thing i still needed was a bed cover, and my buddy Suicide_Star has come through for me on that piece (special thanks to Suicide_Star for that) i should be getting it early this week.

the plan: after i get the body exactly how i want it i will be painting this titan WHITE (i already have white paint so i wont have to spend $ on that either) i think it will look great next to my black titan (some of you may remember this, i gave it to my bro for a while)

so, without further to-do

did you read all of that? if not you better, i dont want any dumb questions

PICTURES!

^driveable this way

FOR REFERENCE: THE BLACK TITAN HAS A DROP KIT ON IT :::

and yes the floor in my bathroom is black and white checkered, it came in the apt like that

Hope you like it!

We need bodyless shots, Noturday. I'm curious to see how you got her to sit so low.

A white body should compliment the curves of that body nicely.

thanks guys, i appreciate the comments

donzii - its mostly a body drop, but i did do a pretty custom job with the suspension work. i have a pic of how low i got it before i got the suspension drop pieces (only have the rear one installed now) and before i started the body drop process
you can see the body drop was the major player in how low it is now.

i will get chassis pics later today though

Looks awsome! Everything about that truck is just amazing! Those rims, do they naturally tuck under the body like that? Again, just absoluty awsome!

The wheels and drop sets it off. I can't wait to see the Titan in white.

on the back of the tailgatewhere it sticks out for the handle i cut that part and filled it in with bondo for my titan dragster.can i get some pics as to haow you got it that low?on mine i lowered my chassis by putting car suspension screws in and it scraped the ground until i shaved off a bit of plastic from the bottom.my f150 looks that low sitting on a car chassis so please show us how you did it on a truck.
also did you cut out the bed?

here are the chassis pics and a couple of the body and how it's trimmed (alot haha) to make it as low as it is

http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/DSC06491.jpg
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/DSC06492.jpg

Hope you can tell what everything is and everything that has been trimmed/cut out/changed, or whatever

yes the wheels naturally sit further in than most other rims

as for the shaved tailgate...well, just stay tuned to see where i go with that, not sure yet

whats with me and lowriders?
1. its cheaper/easier to go low than to lift it
2. no one that i know of has ever slammed an xmod titan like this before so i wanted to be the FIRST!
sidenote: i sold the f150, i dont have it anymore

and why did i get the new tailgate? cuz it was free, why not? plus the reverse light portion of the tail lights is blacked out, and if i dont use it on this truck i still have the black titan i can use it on

thanks for the comments guys, i'll keep yall updated as often as i can

I'm guessing you sold it after I left a few months ago. I have slammed my Titan before, but nowhere near as low as yours.

so you put a spacer inbetween the suspension where it connects to the chassis?

do what?!?!? i have no idea what you mean,
and i really didnt do much to the suspension, i put car hubs up front with long truck suspension screws top and bottom, the tie-rod is a custom one i made that doesnt bind up this low, and it has short suspension screws so they dont rub the rims. i may re-do the front suspension with the drop kit suspension plate and truck hubs, but if its not as low it will be put back to this setup

the rear end isnt anything special, just a drop kit upper suspension plate. the rest is body drop.

xmodracer1, when you say you slammed yours, did you put the fugly bodykit on it? if so, thats taking the easy way out, i wanted to do this the right way. i can put the stock peices back on mine and it is just as low as this way. (btw, real trucks should NEVER have body kits unless they are reproduction stock ones like the SS, SRT-10 or Lightining body kits, which is why im so against the fugly titan bk)

nah, you dont have to, i've already puttied up everything, decided late last night i was gonna shave it all, door handles, 3rd brake light, tailgate, and im gonna attach the roll pan permanently with putty for an even smoother look. it should look sick after all teh body work and paint is done.

oh yeah, i STILL have not payed anything for any part of this project, so the name still stands. my goal is to finish the truck without paying anything

hmmmmm, it seems i have forgotten to update this project on this forum....

what to do to resolve this delima.....how about we just skip ahead to the part where i'm amazing at bodywork haha, its a big leap, but i think we can make the jump.

to sum up, i filled in the door handles, molded in the side skirts, molded in the roll pan and built parts of the fender wells from scratch, shaved the tailgate, filled in the 3rd brake light, sanded off the ridge on the bed cover and primered everything for paint

the mirrors are from a lancer evo, they will look pretty sweet on the truck (and they just screw in like stock mirrors on the titan )

the body is not the only thing that is custom though, the suspension drop kit has been modified to work better at this low height, and the rims have been made thinner so they don't hit the suspension parts anymore (yes, i ground down the lip on aluminum rims, i had to)

oh yeah, and i'm making the black titan contradict this one (since it is going to be pearl white) as much as possible, so i put a lift kit on it

only thing left to do is paint. the truck will be pearl white as said above, and the chassis will be getting a lot of flat black parts
