What kind of crawler do you want? Like a hardcore crawler or something that can crawl over things but still be a m/t truck.

Hardcore: Tamiya universal gearbox, Hs-55(for more speed, bigger spur gear), airplane motor(have heard about it)

Decent crawler: I use the Radline Sp motor in my hummer, works great and has a good top speed, great acceleration, awesome torque and can pop wheelies. I am going to try the modified motor to see if it has more torque.

Cheap crawler: neo mags in a stock motor or the more expensive way, m1 can (or a good can), neos maybe a higher turn motor than a stock xmod(handwound, pattern wound would be great, i think)

Is the Radline SP motor a direct drop in, or do you have to modify the motor mount for it to fit?

I have only done it in the truck not yet in the evo car. But so far it fits into the motor cradle perfectly. there is a couple ways to get it to work.

1. if you soldered the radline motor to the stock motor tabs: red to red, black to black. And you put it in the car. red to positive motor spot black to negative. If should go backward when you push forward on the controller, to fix that switch the motor tabs around on the board. red to negative black to positive.

2. solder the radline motor to the motor tabs red to black black to red and install it normally. It should work fine.

3. is dean plugs.

you might be able to get away with just gearing it.

yes we have. All you do is break a tooth brush open for the motor and take the magnets in the motor. Which you can buy online. Ferrite magnets. I can remember the exact name. Not really the best option but it gives you a little more torque. Neo magnets are better.
