radline motors, I need help
I got myself the 3 pack of the radline motors after hearing highly of them from one of the members here. I switched around the motor wires to work in my hummer, and it works when it's not touch the other gear, but it won't go forward or backward with the motor in... it turns, but won't go. I'm using the stock gear ratio, is that the problem? My dad says the motor isn't creating enough torques even though I'm using the torque motor...
thanks for you time, Patrol |

I am using the sp motor with stock gearing and a stock spacer. The sp has the most torque. How are the wires conected? directly soldered? soldered to the stock motor tabs? The radline motors run the other way. I use the stock motor tabs. red to black, black to red. It runs the other way in xmods. red to red black to black. It is made in different countries. So try switching the motor tabs around. If that doesn't work. Try the motor spacer and different gears. I use it and it is a wheelie machine with 4wd and off road upgrade. Just go in reverse 3 or 4 feet then forward= wheelie. Tape 2 batteries by the motor(tried this tonight) and move back 1-2 feet and hold forward and you will flip over. (i had 3-4 feet with half batteries)

actually, just electric tape holds it together.
so what you're saying is that I should take the red wire coming off the motor and should conenct it to the black wire tab? I'll get some pics asap of how it looks now EDIT: I can't find my camera... Last edited by Patrol; 04-17-2008 at 08:13 PM.. |

You get them at target for about 14 or 15 dollars. Really good buy. You can use the gears for the motor and make a custom mount or use the bigger spur gears for the hs-55 crawler mod.
That's fine. That is what i do before i solder the wires. Make sure it works before. Here i am going to try to find a pic. edit: AS you can see in the blurry pics, the wires are reversed. TH stock motor tabs are in the right spot but the motor's wires are connected to black to red and red to black.

It works! yay! thanks!
Now for my next question, how do I make it work in my gen1? EDIT: I didn't really see an increase in torque... still cant use big tires... also, is it normal not to be able to go in reverse with AWD installed? EDIT2: I got my motors for liek 10$ Last edited by Patrol; 04-17-2008 at 09:33 PM.. |

I went out to target yesterday and i couldn't find what i wanted but i noticed the price of the 3 pack is $10.
To make it work in the gen: You can cut off the motor clip thing with a lot of wire from the motor(enough to solder). Take it off from the other clip. Take the motor out. Right now the wires should be black to black. red to red. Take the clip with no motor. Tape the wires together black to red. red to black. Once it works solder them. It is just like the evo xmods. What motor are you using? The sp has the most torque. I am using the off road upgrade, 4wd and it crawls over alot with a decent amount of speed/momentum. Mine goes in reverse with awd. maybe your batteries are low. I run the stock xmod motor n my real radline and once the batteries start to run low, in the grass it has trouble backing up.

My sp has trouble backing out of the grass but no problem other wise.
I think you could use gear it came with? idk. But to be safe use the brass one.
