if you pay 100000 for that your a ******* for 100grand i would have a much cooler or faster car, skylines are overrated most people just want um for the name just to make their ricer friends jelous dont get me wrong there not slow or ugly but for 100000 i could find something alot better

Yeah there was some auto club/company here in the bay area that was selling a blue skyline r34 on ebay, which was also one of the few cars imported through the now infamous motorex. I think the final bid was like 95K.

I dont know, 100k for a skyline? I'm a major fan and would probably fork over that much for it but I agree that you can spend that on fixing up a car or heck do a overhaul for a classic car like a 65' mustang.

Plus the new skyline r35 will be out in 08' and will only be like 65-70K.

i think its not about performance at that point...its about having a skyline.

Face it, its something like climbing mount everest...its not about the fun of doing it, its about doing to say that you did. Thats why having a skyline stateside is cool- its just having a car that your fellow porsche-driving friends can admire: not for its performance, rather, its rarity.

Afterall, why fork over $100,000 on any car when in reality, a $10,000 car will go the speedlimit just as well?

different things appeal to different people. Case and point? country music.

Ya with that kind of price tag, it definatly makes 100k for a skyline ridicoulous.

Unfortuantly the U.S. is just a bastard when it comes to cars like the skyline (and this has been discussed before). Part of the 100k tag for that car goes to legalization and other red tape paper work.

But I'm in agreement with most, it's no longer about having the car its about the braggin rights to say you have the car, comes down to the basic male ego (who has the bigger d*** )

i read in a magazine that they have to do 1 1/2 months of testing on each one to get it legal. you know the factory tuned skylines? the must be detuned to be able to be driven on public roasways in the us. I WISH I LIVED IN FREAKING JAPAN!!! (i would need to stay away from SARS)
