That's BS. Well at least here... You can get one at 16 (or it might be 15), and you don't even need your learners. Pass the test, and your free to go

What's with the Motor-Swap thing? Trust me, whatever your car comes with is enough. I'm sitting on about 80hp and I can pull cars with 200hp+. It's not all about HP, it's about the torque curve and when you get that power. There is also reliablilty, gas milage (big thing when you're a kid), insurance cost, and the money required to do it.

And then there is the safety element. It is a question of when you will crash, not if. You will. I've been getting lucky (no ABS) and hardly avoiding things. Is the said car good enough to protect the lives of you and your loved ones?

You have to remember, sporty cars will be driven to hell and back. I drive my car hard, and I love it. Stands up to the abuse...

We should get Tex's (non-anti-Honda) opinion for you guys too...

EDIT:
Donzii, Monster is for pussies. You need to get some BAWLS.
wrong, its 16 here in florida

just took the pic from the handbook

Then there is insurance and who pays for stuff. You might also want a decent sized rear seat if you can't bring girls home...

I've raced Mustangs, RX-7's, RSX-S's. I take them all. Nothing beats a super light car that is stick-driven. Rev it up and drop the clutch, then shift at the rev-line is what I do. The Fart-Can-Look exhust pipe makes people go easy, then they look suprised..

Oh, but get a manual car. It's better.

Yea thats why i got a nissan maxima, there very good on gas, nice performance and it has a nice style..

Can't save your own money? Your 'rents won't always pay for you, especially after you get your first ticket for street racing. They won't pay that.

How about you STFU and GTFO?!

Seriously, if you've got nothing good to say about people's cars, just shut it... What do you drive? Oh, secondly, get your facts straight, 1998 240SXes are NOT S15s... We don NOT have S15s in North America... We go as far as S14a's.

But again, you call someone's ride garbage? What do you drive? Even if you did drive a Corvette ZR1, you've still got no right calling some other guy's car garbage...

You won't get very far in life with mommy and daddy buying stuff for you. You'll crash that thing in no time... Why? Because you didn't pay for it, therefore, your wallet/hard work don't have any obligations. Get a job, save money, buy your OWN car, then you'll really appreciate it... Plus, people won't make fun of you.

As for me...
Summer car - 2003 Mazdaspeed Protegé in Spicy Orange:

Summer Project Car - 2003.5 (yes, you read that correctly) Mazdaspeed Protegé in Blazin' Yellow:

Last, but certainly not least, my winter/fun car, an Imported JDM 1988-1990 Nissan U12 Bluebird Attesa LTD. 4WD, first car to ever hold the first production SR20DET. Its the truth. Know your Nissan history... 240 guys thinking you so JDM with your SR20s can suck it

well, i'd like to get a ford ranger, red with a grey stripe along the sides and bumpers, and darker grey plastic fender flares.

but i know one thing i'm getting for sure: once we find room in the garage or get a shed (or two), my dad and i are each gonna get a classic car to restore. i either want a 67 firebird convirtible, or a nova (forgot what year the cool one was...) my plans are to paint it black/brown colorcycle with ice white/light blue hot rod flames, get a holley, and some nice grey five-spoke rims.

oh yeah, my dad wants a '65 mustang restored to stock, but i keep telling him to do metallic steel blue with a white interior, soft top, and shelby taillights, but he says, "only if i get a shelby." which i bet he won't. and i hope not, i wanna win the car shows...
pic's too big...

btw, knvictd, what are your plans if you get that impala?

There a guy down the street from me (very down) with a AE86. It's stock (unless it's one hellova sleeper, it has stock exhust), and it's daily driven... Slow down whenever I pass it.. (I mean like slow down to like 10mph from around 50mph..)

You can't drive a motorcycle with power (over 50cc) until you are 18. You can get an operators license that let's you drive until like 10pm when you are sixteen. But not your motorcycle license. I'm in Florida too and I have friends that want a bike.

Oh, and clutch isn't easy. If you take your time sure it's easier, but doing it up and down and up and down in traffic means you need to do it without thinking about it. And doing it properly so that you can not blow your clutch is also vital..

Um.. Why would you swap out the motor in the RSX? It has the coveted K in it already, and it has the good version. What engine are you planning to swap in?

And you will regret your parents buying your car. If they pay for it, they can take it. It bothers me that I have money to spend on my car becuase my dad payed for it. It's not your first car, it's not even your car. It's your parents car that you are barrowing.
