Check out your local hobby store, they should have some in different thicknesses.

Homedepot and lowes have some. Ace hardware has some but not thick enough. What is you car/s going to be runing. liths? fast? if so the thicker the better. I can only find .032 is the thickest i have and am working on chassis with that. a little thicker would be better. I use .032 and so far it is easy enough to bend for me and strong enough to be a chassis.

.064 should be good. on tower hobbies. more expensive. but stronger. It would be harder to work with but it is stronger. So get a thin sheet or 2 and make a prototype that works and make it thicker.

go down to your local medal shop. Ask for like thin alumium. Be careful when doing it though metal has a memory and once you bend it once it likes to stay like that. So when you bend it back its gonna have a bump there if you screw up.
