Default R.I.P. Michael Jackson...

I know everyone's gonna have their opinion on this, but no matter what you thought about his personal actions, I think we can all agree that the music world just suffered a major loss. I can't say I was a big fan, but I loved his music.

Rest in Peace Michael.

P.S. Mods, if someone created a similar thread already, sorry

Not to mention dance. I agree, very big role in music, no matter what. Not a big fan myself, but I can certainly appreciate the work. R.I.P.

So, it's true and has been verified? When I read up about it earlier when I heard about it it was claimed to be "unofficial" and just a report by TMZ. No matter what, it's a major loss. He pulled some crazy **** but what major recording artist hasn't, eh? He will be missed.

Cheers,
Kyle.

I've been gone for 30 minutes, but FOX, TMZ, LA Times, and the AP were all confirming. CNN and HLN were holding out on confirming. TMZ got their info from a nurse inside the hospital, but as far as I know, it has not been released by the hospital or family "officially" yet.

He had a heart attack at his home, and could not be revived. He was announced in a coma at 1st, but I assume that meant they had him running on life support. Then at what everyone says was 6:15 California time, he was announced dead unofficially.

Learned all that by waxing Fox for 5 minutes... So, hit the major news networks and get your fill

You can buy his NeverLand Ranch Firetruck today, oddly timed:

In other news, Farrah Fawcet passed away this morning!

I had heard of Farrah Fawcett's passing along with M.J.'s. Isn't it strange that TMZ is one of the first to confirm? Typical Paparatzi...They do strive to get their stories straight, and they are certainly more outgoing in some cases to be the first ones with the accurate info. The bigger, more important, more watched networks wait until everyone else has confirmed their stories, just so they are 100% sure they are true.

A lot of the bigger networks watch the popular blogs and get some of their info from them.

Anyway, its a shame to hear of his passing, but from the news thats been going around, he hasn't been well for a while, his death really wasn't all that surprising.

Michael Jackson's not dead. He's just chilling with Elvis, Tupac, Biggie, and Jimi Hendrix. They're working on a big compilation album. You'll see. You'll all see.

No disrespect to any of the mentioned artists. Their music is/was great, and I still enjoy it.

Just reposting what was said earlier by BART since there seems to have been some problems last evening. Again, keep it clean or keep it out of this thread. That goes for everyone.

Cheers,
Kyle.

What the hell guys? Am I the only one that sees this as wrong. Michael Jackson contributed a lot to music, but he has been dead to the music industry for the last decade plus....so there is no loss whatsoever there.

Who died was a 50 year old. When Hitler died the world didn't remember him as the artist and visionary, when Sadam Hussein died we didn't remember him as the american trained puppett gov. of the middle east, when Milly or Vanilly (whichever it was) killed themselves we didn't remember their good deads, does anyone remember Charles Manson's music?

Last week, if someone told a funny Michael Jackson joke you would have laughed, this week it is discracing the dead, a hero and a visionary,..... it's pathetic how pliant the zietgeist of America is.

Yes.
I have a page bookmarked with all of his songs, and listen to quite often, actually.
