Default red and white diffs. What is the difference?

Hi, I have just instaled the awd kit on my Supra. It runs great and I had no problem at all. I'm just curious about the red diff that comes with the awd kit. They say to replace the white one on the rear with this red diff. My question is what is the difference between the red and white diffs.I think I have read somewhere that the red one is a ball diff. is that possible?

thanks
tommy

The red one is a slipper differential, and the white is locked. I would use whte in front of white in back for most traction and power.

the white differential in a regular diff with spider gears it will allow each will to spin individually alot easier the red diff is a ball diff its limited slip so its right between the white diff an a diff thats locked i personally use white diffs front an back because for me lithiums destroy those red diffs within a minute or 2

And thanks to all for the answer on diffs.

I dont have lith for now and I run with sage 1 motor included in the kit. I have put bearings(not RS bearings) and AWD. I'm waiting for my next modification wich is in the mail right now wich is GPM XMOD Gen1 Billet Aluminum Front AWD Axles, GPM XMOD Gen1 Billet Aluminum Knuckle Set, GPM XMOD Gen1 Billet Aluminum Tie-rod .I dont want to do the fets stacking (to small for my big shaky hands) i will put V2 in a couple of weeks probably. For now with what I have what is the ready to go motor i should put to get good torque and speed? any sugestion is welcome.

thanks
tommy
