You see this body?, This is the condition the body was in when I recieved it. I had someone that was "smart enough" to want to cool down his motor by cutting the hole you see (Keep in mind i cleaned it up by using a Xacto knife, before then the cuts were all curved and jagged).

Now if you'd rather drive your xmod around like that then be my guest, hell, send me yours and i'll even cut the body for you. I figure I'd salvage this into a fun project. Now I don't want you to think I'm mad at you because i understand the question could've been outta curiousity. However, read the whole thing before asking questions. The point of the putty is to seal the body kit pieces to the body (Which I want to do), plus to give it the shaping of the actualy converitble. Don't think it looks like that? well wait for the final product, thats what we call work in progress....

Sorry if I'm a little too 'harsh' in my response, but i'm serious if you even read it you wouldn't ask that question.

Thanks 4G63punk, but I don't think he was trying to talk crap about my project. Maybe I'm a nice person but I think he was just asking a stupid question for something that's already been covered you know?

As all of you can see i still ahve some sanding to do on that rear top peice. Fear not, It's coming along nicely so we shall see.

and Finally, le piece of irresistance! A color teaser for the convertible.

Yes ladies and gents, that coat of candy red doesn't come any fresher...

lol yea sure i'll tell you the brand, I bought it at like $0.99 from walmart in their hobby isle.

It's Transparent Candy Apple Red by Testors (Color is #1605). I used a Krylon Metalics Silver as the base, with ofcourse primer underneath it all.

Well, very nice!! I love it so far. THe paint teaser looks awesome. So far 9/10 w/paint(candy red) probably a 10/10

I use squadron putty, works really well for those who ask. I get it for 3.50 at my lhs.

SInce you need some sanding tips here wego:
1. for those small crack where paint and putty don't come out of: go to a home depot or somewhere like that and get a smaller dremmel cut off wheel and break it in half(it is kind of like a tooth pick but with sand paper on it)
2. You could take a little goof off on a paper towel and damp or rub it lightly on the area that is hard to sand.(it takes off some paint, so it is easier to get at the putty.) be careful. I wouldn't go this route for 3-5 days. THe older the paint (longer dried) is the less the goof off will take off.

hope these help. Very nice car.

I'm not sure that I'm going to make an interior, I might just leave it be, and just create a top for it. It's strange because the Z's window line there sits on level with the electronics, literally that rear cover is right ontop of the motor.

Thanks again for hte support guys, Sorry I havne't worked on it much lately, School works been keeping me away from anything fun. Keep an eye out though, theres still lots to come.

Fair enough, will look bad-*** either way!

Good to see a really original project! This car has revoked my love for Z's!

Lol I'm glad to have re-introduced you to your love of Z's. For those of you interested, I'll probably be getting its silver base paint in the following weekend from now. If I'm lucky I might hit the full coat of red and proceed with the final stages of this project.

EDIT: on that note, I was wonder if I can see some different wheel styles on your Z's? I mean i know theres a few on the gallery, but those of you that painted it, what did you pick for you wheel style on your Z?
