Got the bling-bling aluminumnumnumnum radiator in today, transcooler lines hooked up, heater lines in, and flushed out all the old green coolant. Seriously, I need headers!!!!!!
That is what I was talking about previously, the Rad mount had to be cut to fit the filler neck on the radiator. Slowly fillin' 'er up. May fire it up again this weekend. Not sure. A semi-idea was to toss the camaro manifolds back on upside down, so the exited pointing up towards the grille... Just so it can run w/out worry of damaging any valves.. Dunno, we'll see. With a set of headers, this truck is ready for a test-drive.

The first noise kinda sounded.
kaaakaaashsvroovrookaakakakvrooshhhakahakakshhbbbo ... Something like that. But then it sounded good. Happy much? I'll bet it feels great to have it running... |

My cell phone doesn't like being anywhere near open headers. But my god, it is LOUD, it's DEEP, it's a fuggin' BEAST, and I love it. But when hooked up to the exhaust, it sounds toned and mean. A nice low rumble at idle, but you jab the throttle, and it opens up nice. Some-what like a Blowmaster, but better, and with out the in-a-can sound.
The closest I can say to this truck, is Christine. Go watch that a few times, and you get a good feel for how this beast sounds. Yes, I am, really. ****ing. Excited! Gotta do a few things before I can really let it run for any length of time. The trans fluid needs to be topped off, since plenty spilled out in the process of installing the engine/trans. Gotta re-route the trans cooler lines, since they hit the headers. Their supposed to go under the engine, and we accidentally routed them through the frame-side of the motor mount while dropping the engine in. Then gotta put something of a heat shield for the starter. Then just run a fuel line to a can of gas for now until the gas tank is checked. Change all the spark plug boots to angled ones as well. Ah, it's good to sit down, turn the key, pump the gas, and hear it come to life.

Got some work today, good and bad news.
The good, got just about everything but the trans-cooler lines cleared of the headers, and the spark plug wires done. The full, true duel 2 1/4 exhaust. With the pipes dumping right behind the tires, burnouts are gonna look sweet with the smoke being blown outwards by the exhaust Also, thanks to another Cadillac Freebie, got a clock that fits in the extra gauge hole in the cluster (from the factory, it was an option for a vacuum gauge). Also, dunno if I have ever posted it here before, but depending on the seats, may use this center console/flip-seat from a Cadillac. Bad news is, one of the spark plugs decided to break. So no firing today. Maybe tomorrow.

That will look good in that truck. It would look real cool if you made the interior that color too.
Thats a preety nice truck you have there too.

Thanks dude. The interior color depends mainly on the seats. But I'm aiming for that cream white. Then, possibly, do the roof white as well, since I gotta do body work to the passenger a-pillar anyways, and the chances of the new coat of orange matching is pretty low.
Well, curiosity killed the vacuum gauge, I decided to install the clock. Took alot more work then I had thought, but it looks good in there. and how I did it: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...22#post2594722

Bada-bing, bada-boom!
Crank those speakers, and blast the sub, the CST/10 is a'rumblin' out of a 1 gallon gas can, lol
The smoke you see in the beginning is the paint burning off the headers. Got the clock mounted up, just gotta finish wiring. Sad part is, there is more technology in this one clock, then my entire truck, lol.

I would rather have a vacuum gauge they are great for diagnosing driveability stuff. However the clock is a nice touch and blends so well

3rd gen Camaro tachs fit right in pretty well. But the repo of the original tach (which is what goes in that hole) is **** expensive.
Quote:
This is not the original paint, it was originally red. For now, yes I'll just stick with the orange. When we goto do the body work on the passenger a-pillar, and it needs paint, unless a new coat of orange matches up with the current color, may go and do a white two tone: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=molly

But thanks man, I've noticed you have been watching this, finally you commented I'm glad to get this far, simply can't wait to get it on the road some. This weekend I'm going to the houston meet, then the next my dad and I will get on the fuel system. Gotta pull the tank out and inspect it, and run new fuel lines. I'll have the clock and guage cluster finished this week. Gotta run to the store and pick up some silver/chrome paint.
