Sweed load on the GPM because believe it or not, i flipped a car that was probably doing 30MPH and the only parts i had GPM were driveline, knuckles and shocks. those parts stood up. the rest of that F***** blew right apart. crappy tan chassis gone upper decks gone. even the shock towers blew open.

If you cant picture it imagine it this way. My car was flying down the road at 30MPH. Hit a rock flipped over 10 times, and while in the air blew right apart. by apart i mean the EP and liths were off in ones direction and tan chassis with all busted up parts were off in another. The chassis hit the ground again, and literally disintegrated in front of my eyes...

If my entire chassis had been GPM and an alloy base, i wouldve survived no problem but intead i threw that thing into the trash...

Loctite bud...that, and proper bracing and screw tightening and the thing should have been fine. I've rolled my hybrid on concrete at 25mph, and the thing didn't have a scratch on it. Plus, running with a body really helps...

The plastic parts are more durable than we as xmodders give them credit for...

true that
other than knuckles and my shock tower, i haven't broken any plastics. and after they've broken once and i replace them, they haven't broken since.

i do like the extra precision from GPM suspension and drivelines

Well let the project begin Started last night. It is going to be a top speed drag car, not my favorite type of racing, but in order for it to go fast it must go straight It will be RWD, maybe AWD, and will pop mega wheelies

What it shall be:
HS-55 Servo
Mini-Z board
Xmods Evolution Rear motor pod
Spider 4.0
A custom built motor
Butt loads of gpm
Raised rear
and a body that will be nice, but in the end with the all the crashing: crappy
Stock mini-z controller
Locked rear differential

First off, I started with a gen 1 with a evo board, carbon fiber and some lithium.

After that I mounted the rear pod, lithium, carbon fiber, and the front suspension. The evo board is temporary, just until the mini-z board comes in. There is a little platform under the board seperating the lithium and the board. The pod is held onto the board by plastic, metal standoffs and part of a gen 1 rear deck It took a LONNNG time to mount.

I need someone who can make me an aluminum plate to hold the rear pod, the one i made of plastic isn't going to hold high speed. I made a template, it is one piece and very easy to make for someone that can cut metal etc.

Picture of the template:

I will pay good

ITEMS NEEDED:
Hand built motor
That plate made for me

ITEMS COMING:
HS-55 Servo
Mini-Z stock board (not the new ghz board)
and Spider 4.0

How do you like it so far?

I can make that rear plate for you. I would maybe suggest using pcb instead of aluminum. I think it will definitely hold up better for what you are doing. If you know this thing is going to crash alot, pcb is strong as hell and will probably last alot longer than aluminum. I have pcb laying around so it is not a problem. Hit me up via pm and we can discuss it more if you are interested.

pcb i think is made of some sort of fiberous material like fiberglass or something. hard and strong? yes. retains strength after damage? no.
i'd go with aluminum. but if you want to match, you could use some carbon fiber and make it outta that.(it would match really well too)

custom motors: pm red, me, or some other motor guy .

It looks really good, but may I ask, why the EVO rear end? It would seem that since this is being given the high quality treatment, I would've went with a MR-02 rear end...but thats just me...

Later,
