Hi, i'm new to these forums my 1st post here, anyway I read the thread and liking the truck so far, your getting a lot of stuff done my man. I have a 1958 Ford F-100 Custom Cab that I have had for the past year and a half (avatar pic of it). I almost have all chassis work done all I have left if undercoating then its body work, got me a new rebuilt '54 239cid V8 bored 40 thousanths over hangin' in my garage. I has its fair share of rust which sucks MN truck so it explains it huh. My dad also has a '55 and '56 F-100. The '55 was restored in the early 80's and is now in need of some tlc again has 292 V8, bucket seats. The '56 has a 427cid Ford rebuilt about 20 years ago never ran yet this truck still need body work to be done to, chassis work is done on this truck.
Well I wanted to ask you jabari have you driven a truck without power anything? Just wanted to see what you thought about it if you did. I drove my truck for about 6 months without power anything and I don't intend to switch, not even disc brakes. I like it, working hard at turning and braking not like anything anymore. The quality definately has changed since then. If you want to see pics of my truck and i guess my other kool whip go here

Welcome to the forum. So far we haven't driven it yet, except for backing it out of our garage and putting it back in. We are getting the pipes to start on the exhaust today and once that's in, then we will be drivingit around. Later on, we plan on hooking up power steering.

Well hell, 95% of this **** thing isn't original. I think the only original parts are going to be the body parts(except for the bed sides), Chassis(including shaft and rear end), etc.. so yea.haahah. I'm not too worried about it.

Resto-mod

My Chevy sure does seem modern out of our classic trucks, power steering, power brakes... though all drums ain't saying much, just praying and stomping that pedal and maybe you'll stop in time.

Sorry it's been so long since the last update. We are pretty much done with the exhaust system.

We were welding it up. Both of them are bolted to the engine now.

Sounds pretty nasty, lol. My truck sounds waaay better in person as well, then on video. As opposed to cherry bombs, it's one deep mofo.

Small update. We bought a power steering box and pump. They came off of a 1991 Ford F-150. It looks like the steering box is going to fit.

I'll try to have updates soon if we get any work done on the truck.

We are still looking for a pitman arm for the power steering.

Thanks. Any rust that is on it, is not coming off. We sanded and sanded and sanded for hours and nothing.

Sand/Soda blasters rule. You should've seen the parts cleanup my dad did with this thing while he was building up his '78 El Camino.

But the stuff left is just surface rust I'd bet, nothing of worry.

Looks good, how much longer on the body work?

I'm not sure how much longer. We still have work left on the doors and other places. It depends on the time we have for it. I'll keep you guys updated more on it.

Well, we(my popz and I) got major work done on it today. We ordered leaf springs for the front from jcwhitney and they messed up the order(they didnt ship when they were supposed to and now the springs are back-ordered and wont be here for like a month-two months). We did alot on the front end today. You can see from the pics.

We would of used the leafs on it, but one had too many.

Oh and how much do you think this is worth?
-4 spd w/granny gear
-Came from and I6
-Works just fine.
-Sanded down, primered and painted.
