The tutorial you where looking for was written by Surgeon but I don't think he posted it here on XMS, here is a link to it on my web site:

http://www.ab1gworld.com/xmods/irok.php

Which also has the link to the original tutorial.

aha! thanks, just one question, where do you get the longer "stubs" from? do they come with the iroks?

You will need 4 of the longer stubs, and 4 of the shorter ones.

You can get them from Evo Truck knuckles:
http://www.xmodsinternational.com/US...ONTKUCKLES.htm

Short stubs:
http://www.atomicmods.com/Products/X...ub__10524.aspx

I think long axle stubs:
http://www.atomicmods.com/Products/X...ub__10502.aspx

And they don't come with IROKs.

IROKs are supposed to be used for crawling and mudding, but according to this thread, they are heavy and slick making it almost useless for crawling.

Iroks are a brand of tire. the real tire is awesome offroad, i had a set on my 4runner. they are some of the best tires IMO. but the fake scale versions you guys are talking about are made for models. NOT xmods. so they are hard because they are for show! go figure they are not going to work well with xmods.

The Aoshima Super Swampers are the best for crawling.

Like greenkone said if you want to go the crawling route aoshima super swampers. Mudding or monster trucks go with the iroks or try out xi's new m/t tires.

Online, look them up at RPP Hobby. Also, the Tamiya model kits of the lifted Toyota mini trucks and SUVs have the Aoshima tires.

Most the time you can get away with putting them on car rims, and flipping the rims around.

body is lifted, and the rim is mounted backwards compared to normal.
