New body, first time ever painting lexan.
Finally got a new body for the newer Maxx, here's what I started with:
As you can see, it was barely there.. only the front could be held on by clips, the rear was useless. And, here's what it looks like now: I absolutely love the color, chose a candy red and did a sterling silver underneath the red. And yes, I know I need to lower the rear body post.. alot. There's a good amount of runs and what not, but for the most part I am happy.. especially for my first time ever painting on lexan. I wish I had a few clear bodies laying around I could practice on now.. I want to go for a full custom paint job someday now. |

Dang guys, where's the love? These forums sure are slow anymore.
Anyways, this is a better way to show off the new truck/body I think: Got an EVX2, Titan 550's and some batteries the guy threw in on the way that will be going in this truck, so the old elecs can go back in the other truck. Plan to eventually upgrade this one to a 2 speed, and get either the KD 700HO setup for one of these, or a single, possibly dual Titan 775's from a Summit for either truck. Haven't decided what to do, maybe the KD in one and the 775's in the other. I've decided I like waterproof, and this time I'm going to keep them that way. |

looking sweet man, i see you got the snow before it made its way up here. if these are anything like the tmaxxes (which should be, just electric), they can take a hell of a beating. im sure you saw the vids i put up jumping, rolling launching mine.
once it warms up you need to bring that up and we can see how they compare

Zippo, it has taken a pretty good beating from me, but nothing like what you've done with the flipping and jumping. I've just made a few hard hits into poles, especially while trying to snow drift. I do need to take a trip your way.. it is going to work out dang it.
lol, that's a big part of the reason I decided to trade the Slash.. it just wasn't suited for driving in snow or even on ice.. I was close to getting stock rear tires and putting small screws into them for studs or something, but it's just not tall enough to drive in snow. And I'm not going to trust myself just yet to paint someone elses body, but the thought is flattering. Once I get a few other things, I might pick up a body or two and some paint and practice a little, maybe try a fade job and some striping for now before I get to crazy. Thankfully the body I painted here had all of the cool marking laid out, I just had to lay the paint and call it good. |
