Default Drag GTR

Okay having a nice easy project here. Except for one part

Heres my drag GTR, the body isnt in any of the pics as I have lost the front clip I'll look for it.

Custom tuned it, proving XMDrifter's COG theory. It runs like an awd car now, and it has slammers on it.

So far:
My first successful pattern wound motor
Neo Mags
Silver Brushes
New Armature
Ball Bearing Can
55 Winds

and the chassis:
Lithium
slammers
stiletto

It was a new Xmods Street board so i just hacked off the old crystal, and soldered another one on. In some of the pics it may not be soldered on as I took it off to be neater.

Got to do:
lock the differential, I know it's easy.
Get a gpm motor heat sink
Some Suspension

And then I'm going to paint the body at the end of winter

Enjoy the pics and the video. Opening drag showcases the acceleration of the motor itself, the rest is just me screwin around. I couldn't go full throttle because of space, but the opening drag run is like 75% trigger. The rest is like 50%.

The opening drag showcases the acceleration, its got RWD, not AWD, its custom tuned.

You can see the red shine of the wire proving I wound it.

Yes its an eBay stiletto, it maintains a better COG than a better stiletto. I sacrificed weight for stability/heaviness. Plus it was 5 bucks plus shipping

put a layer of electric tape under the motor can.
atomic and pn cans are slightly smaller than xmod size cans. gotta get the tape there so it doesn't shift around

Yeah I'll do that now. I updated the thread because someone told me it looked sluggish. It was only half throttle because of little space. I'll get some really good drag montage up soon. The opening drag was the nicest, it really shows the acceleration. It literally takes 1 second to get to top speed.

Woah, it looks pretty fast to me. Nice setup. Since its only for drag, just use some stiffer springs to help acceleration.
Your 2x faster than its stock configuration, I don't see you losing drags anytime soon.

stiffer doesn't increase acceleration
grip increases acceleration. that means go with soft springs. and while you'r at that, try to find thicker tires with more bite.
if you run on concrete, then stretch foams over the rear tires.

Aren't soft springs gonna allow the weight to transfer too much during turns and thus "lift" the inner wheels breaking the traction? Stiff = better traction but jumpy on bumps, soft = vice versa.

I'll try em all out, as soon as I get some springs Right now I'm trying to get more speed out of it on the speedchecker. Although the speedchecker is under no load at all, it still represents a performance upgrade. If anyone has some springs (evo touring not anything else, silly brains), or some tires shoot me a pm.

New Idea:
I may lower the front, and use XMDrifters new physics find to create a little more downforce.

Oh my mistake then. It always seems that I accelerate faster using the blue springs than the red ones, especially with blue springs taking up the rear.

the red ones allow the car to hunker the rear down and push the tires into the ground. hard springs don't let the weight shift onto the tires that need grip the most in drag racing

weight produces grip
