Bugeyes track!
So I got bored about an hour ago and decided too make a track! I have a few pictures of it in progress and finshed, I would do a viedo but I do not have a good camara. I made the track outta card board, and just taped it down too the hard wood. When I finshed the track, I was surprised, its acutally kinda hard too get used too the track. Well, heres the pictures!

kewl! I really like that, I once made an oval track on a carport. All you need is a garden hose or 2. just connect the 2 ends, kick it into an oval shape, then use masking tape to create the infield, start/finish, and pit lane. Very cool, looks good!

man, you have to holy **** a lot...do you have a bladder problem? You also busted a nutt. Maybe you should get that checked out. But I like your idea. Very cool. I mad a whole thing on how to host a successful race. I wont hijack the thread, but here it is:
For this issue, I thought I'd go with a favorite of mine, Racing. Everyone with an XMODs has thought of it, just like everyone with a car, horse, chariot, or whatever! But, there are a L-O-T of factors that can make or break an XMODs race, as I have and many others have found out. Usually the smallest things can kill a race in a second, which is a huge bummer, as well as why XMODs seem to have died. So, I'll address those factors so you, the reader, has the perfect race! So, what do you need to race? Well, you might benefit from this list I found and modified in an R/C magazine. RACING REQUIREMENTS: Car and Transmitter (yes, put these on your list) XMODs R/C case Small tool set, or at least a screwdriver and lug wrench Plenty of extra screws and lug nuts—v-e-r-y important Cloth or rag Extra Pinion and Transfer gears or extra parts you choose Batteries...lots of batteries...rechargeables, alkalines, whatever you choose, but I have a few suggestions regarding batteries Some materials to mark your track boundaries Snacks and drinks Anything else you find necessary, chairs, coats, etc. So, with all this, you should be able to have an enjoyable race, however, there are a few suggestions I have regarding some of the items on the list. First up is batteries. Batteries should be considered gold, and you will need to seriously stock up on them prior to a race. Notify everyone else participating to do this as well .I like my rechargeables, but I don't reject normal AAAs either. I would suggest not copping out and going cheap on the things that power your car. Now you may be a person to say everything Is assembled in the same factory, which may be true, but some batteries just have better quality, last longer, and give you more power. If you go with rechargable, you should try to pick up the highest mAH (milliamp hours) you can, as this means a longer lasting, more powerful battery. I run Duracell 850 mAh, which cost me about $10-15. So, with that in mind, have about $10 ready to blow on the batteries, because an 8 pack of Duracell's can set you back about $4-5, and with two 8-packs, you can race for quite a while. Next up is the Track materials, which are just as important. Some people like different types of tracks, but ovals are almost always a winner, because they're easy, but not to easy so that they're boring. They're also really easy to build. (This is if you don't have the fancy pants XMODs track set) If you want an oval track, you'll need a garden hose, (or more) and masking tape. Yes, it's simple, I know, but it makes a good track. What you want to do is connect the two ends of the hose, and kick it out into an oval-like shape. Then, with your masking tape, create the starting line, infield, and maybe a pit lane. (Not really necessary, but cool anyway) Now, with a decent surface, you should be ready to race...I like to run practice, qualify, and then race. The batteries mentioned earlier before will keep you racing for laps and laps, and probably several races. Lastly, I wanted to make a note of how handy a pit box is. A pit box is just a little box, maybe a pencil case or something of similar capacity, that you can put all your stuff in, and then stow inside your XMODs case. I like to put in some extra screws, nuts, batteries, wheels and tires, suspension/steering parts, pinion gears just things you can swap in quickly, because you never know what conditions might change that would dictate changes of tires or gearing. You'd be surprised how handy they are. If you do all this, you should get a pretty good race and a lot of fun out of it, just make the list and take everything into consideration. This is from the XMODs Weekly I produce every week.

pretty kool idea you got there. i have a track down in my basement made out of 3/4inch pvc pipe that cost me a total of like $22 at lowes. thats what i would do if i were you and i had ideas to have a comp. it's cheap, easy and is a sturdy barrier, unlike cardboard and tape. but thats a good idea

Then, you start tuning your car for actual racing, and you realize how inferior xmods actually are!
Hahah, jk, but once you start looking deeper into actual 1:28th scale rc racing, you realize that there are tons of tuning options you can do with your car its just kinda overwhelming, but soooo much fun... |
