DIY/Homemade Tracks?
Hi,
Maybe I'm just overlooking it...but is there a thread or posts here that has info/photos of people's DIY/Homemade tracks? I'm contemplating making one based on/inspired by the Tsukuba Circuit and was trying to look for ideas to implement. Considered the foam exercise mats everyone was talking about but at a cost comparison...RCP would probably be the better choice when considering the necessary time investment to make it 'race-ready'. Another idea was using a MDF/plywood base and using some type of foam (perhaps EVA foam like the exercise mat) as railing similar to the RCP tracks and using Herculite bedliner or chalkboard paint for traction. I considered tar/roofing/asphalt paper but many people claim that over time, it tend to have some issues. In any case, thanks for the help guys. I'm just looking to end with the 'Shelf Queen' syndrome and get some of my Mini-Z and XMODS some real 'fun' with a dedicated racing area. |

well im no xmods no-it-all by a long shot but i made my own track in my garage im not sure of their real name so i will call them carpet tiles. i turned them upside down and they have a pretty good grip on them. not the best track in the world but it works, not good for drifting at all, but i try to just circuit race. i also found out that the foam wheels work well on it aswell. have it taken down now though, i didnt use barriers either. if a car crashes it crashes, its the drivers fault for not driving it properly and losing control
hope this helps michael

If you would have used the simple term of "xmod track" and searched a little harder, you would have found what you were looking for. Here is a link to a thread that should give you some ideas: http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/show...ght=xmod+track.
