Default Mac or PC?

Please no bashing "Well PCs are better because ____" or "Macs are better because ___"

All I want to know is who owns what, and why.

EDIT: Oh, and if you have more than one PC or Mac, or a PC and Mac, I made it so you can vote more than one time.

I own an HP running 32-bit Windows. Only upside is I have a 500GB SeaGate hard-drive over the standard Samsung 250GB. But, that's only because the 32-bit Vista crashed the 250GB Samsung.. twice!

I would really like a Mac, however, for all of my photography stuff. Use Mac's at school and flat out love them.

Cheers,
Kyle.

I purchased a 14.1 inch laptop with a dual core 2.0GhZ Turion processor and 2gb of ram for 600 bucks. Macs and PC both have same components, why pay more? Also, lapcounter compatibility is nonexistent with a mac.

I own a Dell xps 400 desktop (bought bout 2-3 years ago) which is my main power horse for my stuff (well until few days ago until it stopped turning on, so until I get some money to fix it, it's MIA) and a Dell xps 1530 which I got a few months ago, to be used in conjunction with my desktop to do my graphics stuff (3D animation, photoshop, etc)

Why did I go Dell? Well cause I was able to build my systems for my needs, unlike going to a store and having to look through and pick one that was close enough.

If I had the money I would have went Mac, but they are expensive compared to PC's but they are more 'artist' friendly

Maybe later on I will get a Macbook pro

eMachines desktop p.o.s. running xp. - only gets used for taxes and paychecks

Dell desktop something-or-other - never used anymore, still has Windows Me...

Gateway laptop - windows xp, only has like a 30gb harddrive, used for moms work

Dell laptop - mini laptop, 12.1", 150gb hdd, windows xp, used quite often

Toshiba Satellite M45 - Windows Vista, used quite often, my personal laptop

HP Pavillion dv2945se - Windows Vista, used everyday, my personal laptop

HP something or other - XP, used a lot, Dad's laptop

I don't see why people still complain about Vista. There has been ample time for people to downgrade to XP, or up to 7.

And I plan on getting a MacBook when I go to college, or next year for my senior year at school.

Woohoo, another Satellite user! I love mine. Poor things taken a soft beating, and it hasn't moved for about a year. The only things I don't like about it though are battery life and the USB ports are on the side. Perfect for what I want.

My dad's Best Buy supplied laptop is an HP, our families laptop is a Dell, and my sisters is an EMachines desktop. None of us like Macs.

I hate mine.
It was good while it lasted, but the HP I got is much better.
The Satellite has NO battery life (litterally, when I unplug it, it stays on for 3 minutes) the screen is broke and won't open, and the cd drive and usb ports don't work at all.

Now I don't have a cd burner. The one on my HP broke when my dog sat on it... the Satellite never worked, and I'm not supposed to use the other computers... haha

Linux isn't a type of computer.
If we were doing OSs, it would say Mac OS, Windows XP, Vista, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and such. But, its simply PC vs Mac.
Linux would be PC (I don't think you can install Linux on a Mac, but correct me if I'm wrong.)

HP Pavilion dv4-1275mx Entertainment Notebook PC

Never liked Mac's. They look pretty, but there's no homebrew, no right click, and just never clicked for me. PC's... I'm used to, and there's right click.

Mac's we had in High School had more problems than the PC's. They do get viruses and stuff, just not as common cause they weren't/aren't as common.

I'm talking about a straight install. Windows and Linux can be installed on a Mac with Bootcamp, as easily as I installed Mac OS X on my computer in VMWare...

It's a Virtual Machine, your still running the original OS.

It will install fine I've done it to my mac before and my pc I wasn't talking abou the computer brand because after mac stopped making their own hardware, it all became the same stuff just different os and imo linus and unix will always be the best end of story manly for when useing what computers were made for and that's work. I love my mac more than my pc no lock ups at all when I installed os 10, when I had nine tho it locked up all the time. Pc are good for games but for graphic arts ( mom is a graphic artist) and music/djing ( I'm a dj that gets paid) mac is the best for now. For coding and other programming you will get shunned if you don't use some type of linux ( I use fedora, dsm, ubuntu, suse linus versions) I use to be in the coding scene and used linux and still do. All in all I will always choose mac for my daily computer sue to the fact that it has always worked for me except for os 9 ( ) and it looks so much better than the rest much more practical. If you want to be a real computer use install linux for more knowledge than you'll ever need.
