Default greenday crawls again?!

Hello fellas:

Most of you haven't seen anything crawl-related since my "Lifted Lux" Escalade project, which never really took off. Unable to live without a crawler, I started refining by existing crawler. The huge, gawky Futaba S3003 was pitched for a smaller, Hitec Hs-55. Next, the trans was rebuilt with all new parts with locked front and rear differntial. The batteries were relocated, and the whole truck was overall cleaned up. The slammed rims were coated with silver for a neater look, and anything weak was either replaced or re-worked. I just tested it to see what had come of my truck, and I was delighted to see my forward action was up to par, as it had been lacking before. (Gears slipped constantly) However, my reverse was seemingly non-existent. I have located my problem to be where I drilled the POT shaft too much, allowing the final gear to wobble or not swing in a circle, causing problems with gear mesh. I am not to upset with weak reverse, but I would prefer having it, as it is useful on the trail. If you can help me any on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated. I have ordered a 1984 GMC Pickup truck, and some Aoshima Super Swamper tires with Pentacle wheels. I am using these with my truck to create one similar to Xmodification's. However, it will be much different, in the paint-scheme. I plan on a color from Dupli-Color, so I have an authentic vehicle. Here are some chasiss pictures for you to enjoy and discuss.

Thank you,
Tyler Walker

Looks good what was wrong with the bigger servo? Also why did you use tape on the wires and not heat shrink?Or is it just temporary?

To ansewer your questions:

1.) The first servo was fine, and it worked well, but the sheer size of it limited me to large SUV bodies with no interiors. I wanted something I could fit a body over.

2.) I want heat shrink, but this is all I had. I will probably pick up some next time I go to RS.

EDIT:I just got off the phone with my awesome Uncle Dennis, and he has notified me that he can also get an Aoshima 4runner kit, so this will be another set of aoshimas and another porject body, so this is like 2 projects in 1.

EDIT: Yet another edit, but heres a video!

Nice, sounds cool. My crawler would have been stuck on the rock because i didn't flip the batterycase. Overall i think it will be cool.

Could you elaborate on this? Do you mean it just doesn't go as fast in reverse as it does in forward or is it not moving at all in reverse?

It strains it immensly, causing it to bog down way too much.

SUPER EDIT: Painted, half mounted, interiored, all kinds of other goodies:

EDIT: Ok guys, I just got 2 cans of Dupli-color paint today. I believe my uncle is getting the 4runner (or has gotten) model today. I am planning on blue pearl for the 4runner, (even if its not an XMod) and red pearl for the GMC. They might not be entirely authentic, but I think they will look really trick. I might do some silver accents here and there, but IDK yet. I can't wait to get them, they should be here in a few days. I also testd my crawler on some "real" terrain, i:e: a rock face that I previously struggled to climb, and I went right up it with low batteries, so I am really pleased. I stilldon't have much reverse, but heck, good drivers don't need reverse!!!lol.

EDIT: Another one..got home and found my GMC and tires, and got to work. Got int. chopped mounted. Got bed chopped for articulation. Turns out uncle wants me to build them both as models...too late lol..But it'll look nice, so it wont matter:

odd curve...melted?

color is autmn maple metallic from duplicolor/

NO ONE CARES!!! Updates:

NO ONE CARES!!!

I should just quit....lol....

Sorry for the double post, but I asked and RedSXmodder gave me the good-to-go and I really wanted people to see my work. I have the grille detailed, the body close to being fully mounted, and I am doing things here and there. This, I believe, has been my best project ever. So, here are the looks-like-its-done-but-its-really-not-pics:

Nice Greenday! I like this project. Once I get my XMOD a servo motor mod, I'll be crawling good too!

I think I am going to paint the yello lenses orange as they should be...turn signals..I also need to finih it and comb through it and fix imperfections, and refine it. I am going to take my time so I can have a crawler that goes as well as it looks.
