Default Servo

Hey i was wondering something; I was reading an article and the only thing that wasn't making sense to me was at the end it was at http://www.e-maxximumrc.com/html/xmod.html .

My question was at the end do you have to put the brown and orange wires on to their respectable resistors at the end of all of the work?

PLEASE ONLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION IF YOU REALLY KNOW THE ANSWER; I AM NOT TRYING TO RUIN THIS XMOD... THANKS!!!

yes all you need to do is just take the resistors and solder them between orange wire and the pot. then do the same for brown wire. solder the resistor to the brown wire them to the pot. your done! not hard!

Do you have to re-solder the orange and brown wires onto the resistors? I know this isn't a hard upgrade, but i don't want to screw my xmod up in the process of doing a simple thing.

Default another question

i was all the way to my servo when i realized that the colors of the wires were not the same as the colors as on the TUT. so is it still the same process as the TUT. to go with the two wires on the ends of the connection? or is it other wise.

Also is the TUT. for the EVO truck just like it is for the EVO car?

Sorry for keep on throwing these retarded questions at you guys but this is really starting to get on my nerves for such an easy upgrade!!!

you should have to do it on a EVO. evos turn good. and the colors are the same or should be unless someone replaced them.

NO the xmod is brand new just out of the box about 3 weeks ago now so they could not have been changed by someone else.
The colors of the wires are the same except their is no red wire it is white and not in the middle of the servo.
Also looking at this their doesn't seem to even have enough space to put the resistors on the servo and still be able close it all back up.

well if the wires arent the same color, then just look at the pics and just solder the ones they tell you. just look at where they are. and then do it. as for the no room just cut them short not to short where you cant solder on them just enough to fit snug then bend them back to the way the pics show them to be.

i dont know much about servos and such but i do know that the resistors are not as "flimsy" as the guy in the tut claims to be but i wouldn't recommend forcing them into a position that the dont want to go into.

Default blahh

YES that is the problem i am having because it doesn't seem that they are going to fit into the casing for the servo because of the lack of space for anything to fit.:***: :***: :***:

Hey,

Hopefully this thread isnt to old for me to follow up on but this tutorial is really bugging me! I know that the upgrade isnt that difficult even though my soldering skills arent amazing - I can do 6-cell upgrades, etc so I figured I would give this ago but I need someone to confirm that what I plan to do is correct, so:

1. Take EP out of Gen1 car
2. Undo screw to detach servo from mainboard
3. Untwist servo wires so 3 wires orange / red / brown are clear
4. Cut orange wire in half
5. Cut brown wire in half
6. Strip wire from the 4 stripes, e.g. 2 brown, 2 orange
7. Solder resistors between cut wires

Done!

Is that it? or am I missing something? Like do I have to put the resistors into the servo box or anything like that or do they just solder on to the wire you cut in half?

Thanks and sorry if this is repeating questions already asked!
