Challenger at work
Thought I'd share this with you all. I was at work this morning and doing a stop off at the auto department while on my routine floor walk. One of the mechanics brought over his new Dodge Challenger, which he purchased over the weekend. Its a 5.7 hp HEMI engine. Automatic, however from what I was told going manual transmission would cost more Other than that, fully loaded with GPS and all that fancy stuff :P
Thought I'd snap a few pics and share. Would have snapped more, but I was at work after all :P Sorry if the quality of the pics are not great, was taken with my camera phone SIDE VIEW FRONT INTERIOR

Nice!! They really are a sweet car!!
The tranny is what put me off one.... when I was looking at the Mustang they only planned on releasing these with autos.... then everyone complained and they decided to do a manual option, if they had that option to start with I might have got one

And how big it's proportions are. Too much distance from the rear fender opening to the top of the fender line. But the OG Challenger was a fairly large car for the day too.

Yeah it is bigger than what I expected, but I do like how these new models have retro inspired designs. The auto thing is a wth? for me. I think even the Nissan GTR comes standard auto . . . wait (reads website) Dual Clutch 6-speed with Paddle Shifters, but still gimme a old fashioned knob XD

The GTR only comes in Manual. That's the only way it can pull it's various AWD tricks.

Anyways... Yeah these things are tanks...: Also taken on a cell phone... Luckily i have a 5MP though... Hehe I dont think we ever got tired of driving it. We were out from 8:30AM till like 12 the next day driving around goofing off. Best day of my life! We raced a Lotus...: Attempted to race an SL65 (he was having none of that): And screwed around with both the 'sclade and F150: That day was easily the longest time i have gone without driving the Q7 around since i bought it... But i would trade the 2 Q7's for 1 Challenger... |

I'm sorry, I had a brain fart. Meant auto, but the thoughts and dreams of a manual dictated my typing fingers.

Gtrs are crap... a built in launch mode that blows up your tranny and then you have to pay to get it fixed? 20 grand for a new tranny that broke because a built in feature. This is funny... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOAXJTTc__w

I heard about that and read into it and really the people who are blowing their gtr tranny's cause of launch control are also the idiots who don't know what they are doing, unfortunately these same people hype up what is supposedly a minor issue. LC is to be used in conjunction with Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system turned on and not off. But anyways cause of so many warranty issues with the transmission, from blown transmission's, to dealers needing to reprogram the LC and people who don't read their owners manual. Nissan has confirmed launch control will not be in the 2010 units. But VDC is gonna stay. Gtr's are not crap, they are just getting some crappy feedback from crappy drivers

No, nissan is full of ****. They tell everyone how to use launch control (VDC OFF, in every instance), and the only way to achieve it's amazing 0-60 was with launch control. But when users of all types used launch control, it ended in VERY premature transmission failure. Oh, and then they weren't going to cover the damage from a feature they built in to the car to be used.
