no it doesnt, none of the upgrades available from radioshack require soldering. Soldering is only used on these when it comse to an electrical modification.

Wow, I kinda thought it was easy to install, JUST FREAKIN TIME CONSUMING! The AWD kit does rock once you get it in though! And no, it doesn't require any soldering.

4 some reason I never had a hard time installing ANY of the RS upgrades...they're so easy lol

none of the performance parts are hard to install my 10 year old brother knows how to do them

yeah radioshack upgrades are easy, when im done with one i memorized how to do it lol

the only RS upgrade i have trouble installing is the GEN1 AWD, it has SO MANY screws!!! and none of the RS upgrades need soldering. unless you are adding new electrical parts nothing needs to be soldered.

AWD for evo and gen 1 is very time consuming PLUS it gives you a lot of stress.when doing this upgrade make sure that you are in a happy mood so you have space for stress!
