question about motors
the local hobby shop has a motor that is same size as the one in the xmods or not sure in brand or not but if i took the spur gear off the stock motor could i possible use this?

It should work, as long as the motor is a 130 size or 180 size, or in your case the same as the stock.

ask how many turns the motor is, stock is i think 60ish turns?
if its lower than the stock, its gonna be faster

Make sure it is not a slot car motor they operate at 12V and would be really slow for an Xmod.

42-43ish turns is the FET burner mark for a motor. Yes, and also check if it is a slot car motor, you can tell because slot car motors usually have a single rectangle cooling hole, or the endbell might not have capacitors

Generally speaking it means you can't use it because its more than likely a slot car motor.
