Yeh, it's called the Tamiya Universal Gearbox.
You can do it with out cutting the Xmod. And with unholy amounts of power..
I had to wing-it on the Titan Im building. Having to cut a lot of xmod to get it to fit tight.

Edit: Hey lancer, I think you messed up when reinstalling the gears. Notice the tiny gear that meshes with the motor's pinion:

Yours may fail pretty quick if you dont flip that thing around.
