why not black playdough? it air dries
or maybe black model-magic for hard foam tires
think how much money you spend powering the oven to bake the clay. it's be much better with air dried tires or model magic, and with a thin "traction layer" of modeling clay that's been rubbed into therubber, you might be able to get more grip on tennis courts.
