if you can't solder, then the upgrades you got are a good starting soldering difficulty.
you'll need solder, a soldering iron (creful, it's really hot...been burned a few times, and it's pure agony), some kind of safety glasses, and a stable work table.

melt a little solder on the tip of the soldering iron, then touch that tip to the end of what you're trying to solder, and touch the solder to it at the same time. the solder should melt easily and bead up. take away the soldering iron and solder, then pick up your wires.
hold the wires about an inch and a half from the end you're soldering and lightly push it against the solder bead. heat it with the soldering iron until the bead is melting and pull the iron away, holding the end of the wire in the melted solder until the solder solidifies.

li-po is high power and high torque. make sure you have the appropriate charger. the charger MUST by li-po specific because lithium technology cells are volatile
