300 for rims is not bad, but only 3 tires? If the tires are good and still have lots of tread I would buy 2 of them, then buy a set of two yourself from elsewhere so ya have matching tires on the same axel.
Importantly I would see if he has and would sell you the wheel spacers and make sure your getting the same or right lugs (unless they were to fit snuggly already) for the rims, cause if you put them on your future truck you could face tire wobble, especially with 20 inch rims.
Maybe talk him down, like take off 20 bucks so you can buy new spacers (if needed) and lugs (preferably something with a wheel lock, so someone doesn't try to jack them from you)
