yesyesyesyesyesyesyesYESSS!

Seriously, I had seen part of the build before, but it just looks so sweet, great work. :roll_eye:

Andrew7447 03-15-2007 09:04 PM

wow i am thinking there is going to be a new speed record lol get that thing on a dyno man!

librarianliam 03-15-2007 09:23 PM

that is amazing.....

modman54935 03-15-2007 10:49 PM

that looks amazing! how does it perform?

texan_idiot25 03-15-2007 11:18 PM

Well, if you read the thread, Its not finished. Im making a custom chassie, and have yet to order the parts, like li-pos, nelly, and wheels.

But other than that, search youtube for tamiya gearboxes and you should see on that mentions a highspeed. thats my video, showing the mod i made to the gear boxes.

Also, search youtube for Dual motor xmod, and I have a video of the last version.

thrillbilly 03-15-2007 11:25 PM

that thing will be sweet.... when you finish it of course. good work...

RodsRUs 03-16-2007 12:22 AM

thats VERY cool man...especially if you throw 2 aftermarket motors in it....nice man!

texan_idiot25 03-16-2007 12:05 PM

Thanks guys,

As far as motors, Ill just use these to messaround, but I might buy http://xmodworld.com/modules.php?nam...=22614&start=0, These. Its dirt simple to change motors in this gear box, they both just slide in place, and clip in. So sliding to 180 motors would be a breeze, and Id just have to make a new mount.

Oh man that is so sweet! I've been thinking for a while now about putting together a dual motor xmod my thinking was to have a motor for the front and a motor for the back wheels rather than having the two motors powering a 4WD system, the two motors powered of the same electronics package so when you hit the gas both motors turn over at the same time I could just be talking crazy but that dual motor kit is sweet!

texan_idiot25 03-16-2007 12:45 PM

Well Im banking on that the stacked Nelly will survive 2 motors. Which... I havent figured out. So thats why Im just starting with these little Tamiya motors 1st.

If that works, then both will run from the same EP.

I like the '55 nomad body. It hides all that custom power well...

That would be pretty quick running off of 4 liths.

texan_idiot25 03-16-2007 03:16 PM

Lithium Polymer:bigwink:

janikphoto-I had to get a wagon body to fit all this under. That, and stationwagons are cool. I was looking for and older like, 76 station wagon, but seeing this Nomad, I had to get it.

blindman8 03-17-2007 04:29 PM

AWESOME!! after you get it done you should put whellie bars on it if it is a dragster of course

Life 03-17-2007 05:11 PM

how much were the motors and where u get em from

Sweed 03-17-2007 05:36 PM

Hm... I swear those are the same photos from the last update, which was a while ago...

Now to be less critcal of you, how's it going. With being grounded from the computer, you shoulda had plenty of time to work on it?

XMDrifter 03-17-2007 07:40 PM

woah, never seen that before
i say that you'll NEED a wheelie bar on the back with all that torque

bigmike17 03-17-2007 10:41 PM

Thats a nice looking Nomad. How long do you think before its done? Have you given any thought to body color yet? Candy Apple Red would look hot on that body.
