Hello

Hi, I've been gone for a long time. The last thing I remembered coming out was the GTR, I wasn't impressed with the lack of interchangeable crystals. Now that I got out my Gen 1 Skyline and did some drifting, I'm interested in Xmods again. I see there was a line called Xmods Street, is that right? Are these cars an improvement? How well do they drive compared to Xmods Evolution cars? I'm interested in the Challenger or the 370Z, but the last few times I went to RS, I found no Xmods at all. I guess I'll have to make some calls and see if anybody has them.

Are there any good reviews about Xmods Street, like on Atomic Mods or something. I looked around but couldn't find anything.

the xmods street is basically an EVO with a better board and no interchangeable xtals :(, that's the only difference, the board and no xtals. and they are discontinued, but there are rumors that they will be releasing a new line in a couple months :D

and welcome back!

Hey, welcome back! Hope you stay long enough for the next line of Xmods (if any is coming along! Very hopeful though).

Thanks. Yeah, life just gets pretty busy with the family and 2 jobs. The problem I get myself into is wanting to collect all Xmods, when I really only need 1 or 2. I really have to control myself. I've got tons of Xmods but I really only play with one, it's Gen 1 Skyline body on a Evo VIII chassis with stage 2 motor and all wheel drive with the drift wheels and light kit. It's a lot of fun. I don't know why I felt the need to hoard as many Xmods as I could get my hands on. I'll try to limit my self to one of the new line if it comes out.

The funny thing about Xmods is it's hit and miss. For every 1 car I bought that drove good and tracked straight, there were two that I couldn't get to go straight no matter what I did to it. Kind of annoying, I should have returned them, but I didn't.

The best car I've owned was the Evo VIII, right out of the box it drove straight and drifted nicely, even with rear wheel drive and a stock motor, I was driving it on the smooth tile at the mall.

This is just me remenicing about the past and ranting.

I got into Micro Ts too, those are a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to the new 1/24th scale Rally Car that will soon be out.

I hate to break it to you, but the GTR is a part of the Street Series line as well. It has the same chassis and quality as the Challenger and 370Z. So if you didn't like the quality of the GTR, then you will not like the quality of the other two. ;)

OK. I guess the main thing that turned me off was I didn't care for the GTR body or the R8 body, so I guess I lost interest before the Challenger and the 370Z bodies came out.

When the GTR came out, I remember some talk about wether it came with AWD or not. Did it? Or was it a separate kit like it's always been?

It doesn't really matter now anyway I guess, all the RS in Utah are sold out.

What's the tall box that's next to the motor? That looks different than it does on an Evolution.

Also, what could be modded on the Street series? There were no body kits, right?

Nope, no BKs, that's what I didn't really like, but you can always start a project and you'll have your own unique Xmods car to love. LOL.

It did not come in AWD form. You had to purchase the kit separately like the Evo's.

I believe the 'tall box' you are referring to is the new version of the plastic motor heat sink.

Heatsink? Heattrap
