Where do I find just regular ole 'standard' rims?
I'm gonna replace the tires on my 75' Monte Carlo (it needs them lol) And I'm thinking since the stock rims on the car are old, probably rusted out and not to mention maybe bent (make it a pain to balance come installation time) I want to just buy some new ones. I'm not talking bout fancy chrome/aluminum stylish rims. I'm talking lame ole standard rims to slap a hubcap over. I would go to a pick and pull in my area but I prefer to just get some new ones that I know are in great condition. I've googled like mad but haven't found a site that sells anything outside of aftermarket fancy stuff lol. I know they make them cause I've seen customers bring them in before for tires. Any suggestions for sites would help, If all fails I'll have to ask around at work, but thought I'd ask here since I'm on vacation atm and won't be back for a week lol

Find a good junk yard, my favorite one has a ware house of wheels. 75 a piece for alloys, and 50 and under for steelies!
Jegs, Summit, they have generic steel wheels that'll fit everything, especially the Monte. Wheel Vintiques if you want your steelies to be fancy and of custom dimensions (17" rally wheels? Why not.) |
thanks tex ill try those places out! But I'm just trying to find stock ones, trying to stay original and just get the original hub caps from elsewhere :)

Which wheels do you have? You can find new stock-style steelies from those same places, Summit and Jegs. Again, check some older junk yards, mine stocks some older stock steelies as well for the more common cars. Chevy steelies are so common it's worth a look.

Just stock 15' steelies, I asked a co-worker at work and he recommended some local places and a place we refer business too that fixes rims, could maybe just have them sand blast and powder coat them black, as long as the rims are not bent . . . badly lol

Generally you find the rims wrapped around the inner part of the wheel. ;) :D

Found 'EM!!! They are not black but can get them, but who cares, gonna slap OEM Hub caps on them anyways, it's OEM replacement and new!!
