B1G's Latest Find

So the wife dragged me out to some clearance shopping sale thingy and I got bored and took myself to Ollie's for a rummage around.... they had some big Nascar buyout special going on and buried in all the crap was a bunch of Revell Rpmz RC cars, took a look and realized its the Mini-Z MR clone that we've seen before so nothing amazing but only $20 from what I remember the ESC is pretty good but other parts let the car down.... anyways I grab one Ford Tarus body with Nascar decals, extra tires, digital controller, different gearings, etc, etc...

I will take better photos once I get time to take it apart but for now these should give you an idea:

Guess when I have some cash I'll get a stock-R motor for it and some new rims and tires then look at what else might fit.

Body is kinda cool they also had a Chevy Monte Carlo body so I may go back :)

Nice catch for only $20. If anything splice it with a Z roller and get the best out of the deal.

my brother got one of those for christmas, and im not trying to bring u down, but they really do suck, or at least his did. not enough detail and nothing to mod except springs, lol, and the motor got all ****ed up in his too.

Going to have to raise a bit of cash first before I can go crazy but I'll try to make some progress with it, I was told that it can be converted to 6 cell AAA rather than 4 cell AA pretty easily so that will probably be the first mod.

Hanovers about 3 hours away from me :) but I went back to my local one yesterday and got the Monte Carlo kit as well.

Yeah that was my thinking... I'll just watch ebay for a roller chassis parts lot to come up and see what I can buy.....

Mini-Z clone you say? I like.

deckerz 10-01-2009 02:10 PM

id like to pick one of these up (if only i lived in america).
im guessing mini z parts and body shells ect fit?

TheB1GDude 10-01-2009 03:43 PM

Most Mini-Z parts look as though they will fit so I might order some alloy pieces.

The mounts for the shell are slightly different but it shouldn't be hard to adapt an ASC to fit.

I went back and picked up the Monte Carlo, need to apply stickers and take some better photos :)

man i really want one of these chassis' now, i just started work on a old 1/24 scale shell i have and i belive these these are 1/24?

i hope they are as cheap on internet as you found them in the shop. if not maybe i could get one from you.....:D

bigez 10-06-2009 05:39 PM

i think that these are al ittle longer than the mustang chassis but i bet you and make a new h plate to make it shorter that
