New Xmods Micro

Went to RS today, took a look at the Challenger (yay n_n) and looked one shelf above and found some new Xmods Micros (Zip Zaps)

The GT-R:

The Mitsu Evo X:

They look a whole lot better than the old Zip Zaps (can't change the wheels though).

According to my rudimentary analogies, because there's a GT-R Xmods and Xmods Micro, there should also be a Evo X Xmods coming on the way. Just a speculation since they've obviously got rights to make the Evo X already.

Man, a GT-R Micro Xmod wouldn't be bad to scoot around with.. Maybe even the Evo X... or both!

How much do they want for it? Do you remember? Thanks. :D

Cheers,
Kyle.

There wasn't a price tag >.<

My guess is $15-$20 each.

Donziikid 09-19-2009 04:55 PM

So they were free! Awesome!

Alright, thanks. I'll have to check 'em out myself and see.

IMO, they look a whole lot more realistic than the older Zip Zaps (probably new chassis to provide more realistic looking bodies)

Also, if you notice, the rims are both the same.

I'd get one for myself, but the TK05 Bank of my Room is currently low on cash.

lol. but wow, i hope they do make an evoX xmod.
looks smexy, and i could get the xmod micro as a mini-me to display next to my cars lol

just went to my RS today and to the left of the dodge Charger i see an rc car the same size as those cars in the pics.it was a wrx but i dont know if its an xmod because i was like "doesnt look like an xmod, so i should just look away".

Stampedekid 09-19-2009 11:20 PM

Well heres my look on the Zip Zaps(when they were Zip Zaps) heck of a lotta fun even with my many hobby grades and could take quite a beating. Also they looked kinda like the "smartcars" of RC's meaning all squished up and whatnot. They looked good but these are better. My one question is it like the first gen of Zip Zaps all digital proportional, like the second gen where it still had AM radio but 2 sticks or like the last one where it was IR?

The zip-zaps or xmod mini looks pretty cool, may pick one of them up just for giggles.

hmm a evo x mini? well if they have done a gt-r mini to coincide with the gt-r xmod, (just throwing this out there) but could it be a possibility there's a evo X xmod coming out? o.O???

Since they're so small and sexy, I think im going to snatch one and run.

Michael Long 09-26-2009 06:48 PM

Wow they still make them? I thought Zipzaps were discontinued. I was about to buy a Nissan GT-r hotwheel to put on my zipzap, but that would have been a waste. I heard these car's motors are hard wired is that true?

xmodsupra01 09-26-2009 08:49 PM

IF they do make a Xmod EVO X then i can totally try to turn it inot a xmod rally car! Anyway the micros run for about $20 each at my radioshack. Just thought i would clear that up lol;)

My old Bumblebee Zip Zap's motor was hardwired. I'm not so sure about these ones. They might be to save some money, but you'll hafta check.

did some research
- Catalog# 60-0388
- It's a "regular" ZipZap (no propo)
- Has dual-batteries in the car (2.4v @ 70mAH)
- Motor is hardwired (but the engine is pretty fast as is, so not a total loss)
- Has headlights
- Price is $20
- Available in 27MHz and 49MHz

Michael Long 09-26-2009 09:23 PM

They still look nice. How did you search the catalog thing?

i found it in a forum where some one had posted that after he bought 2 of them

The hard wired thing could be a plus. I took a Oral B Pulsar, the toothbrush which vibrates and took the motor out of it. The motor is as fast as the NX zipzaps motors and is also colored purple, sometimes black or yellow. The motor is also hard wired, but I cut the wires and I could attach them to these zipzaps for an insane amount of speed.

This might be correct, but this was for the first batch of Xmods Micro. The newer ones are longer than the old zip zaps and the wheels are non-removable, so we have no idea what they look like underneath yet.

Michael Long 09-26-2009 10:18 PM

Ok then, I might go to radio shack tomorrw since it's only 1 block away from my home. What should I get? The Mitsubishi or the Nissan?

taiwanesekid05 09-26-2009 10:23 PM

I don't really care. Any one you want.
