AE86 Levin drift

Well, I've got a few projects going on right now and here is one. The Levin drifter.

Custom hood, fender flares, front lip and modified Supra rear spoiler.

I was able to fit most of an interior and a roll cage into it, which I am proud of considering the space limitations.

Very clean and detailed, but looks ridiculous for an 86.

I modeled the fenders after the cheap bolt ons that you see, although not everyone's taste they mask the wide offset wheels.

i think it looks great! i would lower it some, but only if the interior would allow it.

Haha. RHD. Nice. :p

Looks very nice, Surgeon. Haven't seen much Xmod wise from you in a while. Welcome back.

Cheers,
Kyle.

Thanks a lot! I might try to lower it, but the interior is problematic...I almost want to do a big-ole boat of a muscle car next, all of these import interiors are killing me.

RHD, would there be any other way?

I've got more than a few tricks up my sleeve, don't worry about it.

I 'spose not for both statements. ;)

A bunch of other nice projects you have posted around here as well, Surgeon. Again, welcome back. Can't wait to see more.

Cheers,
Kyle.

Painted and installed the lenses, still need to lower the rear end and trim any interior that it needs...Update:

How did you put the black around the windows im still having trouble with that on my models

How low do you plan on putting the rear end? anything custom on the chassis?

For this one I sprayed it sating black, then taped off the windows and trim and added the blue over the top. This also left the interior black. The easiest way is to apply the tape, trace it with your fingernail and then an exacto blade...it will give you a clean mask.

edit: If you look at my starion project, I hand painted the trim on it with matt black...I think it came out just as well, but you need a very steady hand.

Just a couple of MM to match the front. The chassis is awd, bearings and a pn racing stock FET motor...but I might swap it with a radline or custom motor.

Sounds like your gonna have a pretty sewwt car when finished.

Thanks, I am kind of procrastinating on lowering it because it is going to be such a pain.

05'GTSTANG 06-19-2009 09:28 PM

How so?

Well, with an import, and this is no exception, they are smaller than the muscle cars. Some bodies (like this) can't fit the bulk of their interior in without it clipping the chassis. So I have to trim the installed interior meticulously with an exaclty until it goes down.
