What kind of motor are you running?

Looking nice. Where are you getting those gen 1 front knuckles tho?

Yah, right those were bought several years ago! As this X-mod to... but only recently it saw the light as a ASF miniz board :) |

wow.

A quick question how do these z mods handle compare to the real mini-z?

Being a brick of precision alloy with mini-z electrics do i have to say anything more? So so sad, that needs hard WORK to make x-mods like this. But in the end it pays off... sometimes the hard work is the goal! :) For the more resistance transmission of the xmods all it take is a better motor or simply neo mags on ball bearing cans. As for suspension options miniz's are better for sure. |
I really like what you have done with this gen 1 and the body. Is there anyway or somewhere on this website where it shows exactly what to do to add this type of board? Someone please help!

Everything is in that photo. Use the Gen1 servo. It will be good, fine whatever! Stock gen1 board is the weakest link and don't push that servo far away or any good in the short way it moves with it! With a ASF miniz board it will move like any hobby grade servo. Just open the servo and get the 3 wires pot out and the servo 2 wires motor out. Then wire those 5 wires to the miniz board like the million dollar pic's above shows! (the servo eletrics board leave it alone or remove...that job now is done by the miniz or losi micro board). We only need (inside the servo) the Pot and the motor. (3 wires + 2 wires) All that stress into putting miniz boards or losi board into xmods it's those 5 wires of the servo on the boards that need to match the 5 wires of Xmods internals! :) After that they ROCK! :bigwink: |
