Project: Dream Evo

hello guys. before i start the project you must hear the story of how it started. ive been obsessed with xmods ever since my first one which was an infiniti g35. so recently i tried to build the fastest ar ive ever owned. lithium, ball bearings, the whole 9 yards without any PCB upgrades or GPM except the stilleto. the FETs ended up frying due to extreme racing and heat. ive recently been trying to think of something to do with it since i ripped out the xmods PCB so i figured why not build my dream car! The car will be an Evo 9 (GSR or MR cant decide yet) with white paint, charge speed front lip, maybe a rear diffuser, burnt tip exhaust, carbon fiber roof, trunk and hood, and to top it all of it will be sitting on limited edition VOLK TE37 wheels (black with red outline). as for the chassis and electronics. i will be running an Iwaver PCB with an atomic stock ball bearing motor and a stilleto chassis with lots of gpm. as for batteries i will be running 2S2P packs.

picked up the tools i will need:

Looks like a nice start to a fun project and car but correct me if I'm wrong but I've been hearing the I waver pcb cant take much of a motor with the liths

probably. but i plan on upgrading the FETs i ordered the board today. next i want to get the FETs and some GPM knuckles.

if you get a iwaver PCB make sure you resolder all the wires, they're known to come loose. and if nothing else you can pick up a used AM mini-z board off mini-z racer for $20-25. but looks like a good project have fun with it :)

ive never seen a mini-z board go for less than 70 so im definitely interested. i got the iwaver board for about $22 shipped. juss waiting for it to get here. it shipped from japan to new jersey -___________-

if you buy them off the stores new they'll be way over priced, i bought the one i had in my MA-010 for $20 shipped off a guy on MZR. but $22 for a new iwaver board is a pretty good deal, normally they go for $30-40 shipped. just be sure to resolder all the wires before you onstall it or else in a little bit you'll have a field day trying to track down broken connections ;)

will do. i will post pics of me installing it when i get it

you can try ebay, but i'd also look at some PN mtors. i pefer the PN speedy 05 BB

heres a link to some of their motor: http://www.kenonhobby.com/130-Motors...ies_c_162.html i used to speedy 05 in my MR-02 when i raced mini-z great motor. PN makes good stuff for less money then atomic

xxmoderxx 04-09-2011 05:07 PM

i think i might run a PN racing 33t ball bearing motor. suggestions/comments??

you need to upgrade the FETs or swicth to external MOSFET

xxmoderxx 04-10-2011 12:09 PM

im going to upgrade the fets. maybe a 2x3 stack. and sorry for the hold on the pictures guys. im waiting for my iwaver PCB to get here from japan.

CJA94 04-14-2011 10:48 AM

Nice man what do you plan on doing to the body?

xxmoderxx 04-14-2011 05:14 PM

chargespeed EVO 9 lip kit with carbon fibre hood, roof, trunk, and a stock spoiler. she will be painted dove white. im trying to figure out how to convert the front bumper from evo 8 to evo 9. heres a link to the lip kit i want. mine is going to look the same just white with the stock spoiler:

No need to stack or upgrade FETs for PN Speedy motors.. they will run fine on stock ones, however if he doesn't plan on stacking them, I always like to upgrade the initial stack, but no need to with the iwaver PCB.
