92 Chevy Short Bed (My New Ride)

Well i got this truck about a week ago & i was finally able to get on a computer and post the pictures.

Well here is the story on how i got it.
I went up too springfeild for a band comeptition, then when it was over we went out too eat & we saw a 1997 Honda civic for sale & we went & looked at it & put a down payment on it, since it was a good deal, then when we went too pay for it, the guy never showed up so we drove around & i ended up getting this:

That is a pretty nice truck!
Is it a real 350 Sport or does it just have the sport grille?

monsterhunter 11-14-2009 02:18 PM

Thats a pretty nice truck! hope you ont have too many pot holes where you drive or your gonna bend the **** outa those rims.

FloydfanYodaman 11-14-2009 05:01 PM

congrats...nice truck...hope it treats you well...gotta love impulse buys =)

God I love that body style of Chevy.. looks absolutely great, minus those wheels. Too big, needs a lot more sidewall. A set of 18's would look worlds better, atleast to me.

Enjoy it, I'm wanting to get one myself.. thinking about going with an 86 or so 4x4. :drooooooollllllll:

imnotmikal 11-14-2009 09:58 PM

Is it just the perspective I'm seeing it from, or is that RPM meter mounted directly in front of the speedometer?

It seems so to me too. Strange some one would want such a large rpm gauge, concidering its a automatic.

texan_idiot25 11-15-2009 03:41 PM

I like it, but sell those rims to the ghetto and get something proper on there. They ruin the look of an otherwise good looking truck

FloydfanYodaman 11-15-2009 07:33 PM

hope you got your down payment for the honda back

I think they look fine, but hey thats just me, good luck on getting a truck like that. They are either too expensive or rust buckets. lol

It is the rpm gauge, why the guy put it in front of the speedometer, i have no idea.:roll_eye:

Well the truck was built for racing & was never finished, although its an automatic, it has racing parts in it. I plan on moveing the rpm gauge pretty soon to a more conveintent location.

Sadly i didn't :nodno: , but on the bright side it was only a $50 down payment.

Also here are some engine pics, this is before the serpentine belt & idler pully were replaced & before i put the hood pins on it & cleaned up the motor.

Where are the "racing parts?"

That's a stock 350.. looks like a 350 anyway, could be a 305. Edit: Went back and read the mod list.. 350.

I see quite a bit of cosmetic work, and unless that suspension has been drastically modified, I'm willing to bet it's just a normal drop kit..

And the exhaust, yes it might add an extra 10 ponies if you're lucky, it doesn't even have headers.

jimmythekid1 11-17-2009 08:19 PM

I spot a missing ac clutch cover!

Bananabrain 11-18-2009 08:55 AM

Well its got brand new suspension on it (which is real nice), racing plugs & wires & a 700r transmission (Great for the highway) i plan on getting headers for it, but i need to save up some money, also i know the clutch cover is missing, just need too save up money to get it. :D

jimmythekid1 11-18-2009 06:14 PM

he said "racing plugs and wirers"

Bananabrain 12-21-2009 08:58 AM

Random picture to prove its mine, also notice the foglights are hidden & i think you can see the hood pins.
http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/o...dhummer007.jpg
Look no more decals or tint opn the rear window.
http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/o...dhummer008.jpg
Only rust on the truck, getting a new cab corner after christmas.
http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/o...dhummer009.jpg

Thanks, and the hole in the cab actually isn't as big as it looks. It could be worse. :D

Bananabrain 12-22-2009 08:49 AM

Kind of an update.
Well i remember someone asking me if the truck was a sport or not and i don't remember what forum it was on, but whoever asked the truck is a 1992 Chevy Sport C1500, i was digging through the papers for the truck and found it, also my next objective is too find out if its a Silverado or a Chyenne.

Bananabrain 03-03-2010 08:55 AM

Found out that it is a Silverado, now that my Birthday is coming up in a few days im going to try & get some performance upgrades like, k&n breather & a performance module & a few other little things to dress up my motor & make it run a bit better.

Tmaxxn3 03-03-2010 02:11 PM

hey how about my chevy vs yours?
