high torque drifter

well i caught the drifter bug, after playing around with the mini 350z, and waiting on the batteries to show up for the carbon fiber awd chassis, i decided to put the 180se high torque motor to good use.
so the first think i thought of was throw it in a gen 1 chasis, make it awd, full ball bearing and get a nice drifter out of it.
so heres the progress pics so far. started with a nib awd kit, nib gen 1 vxb bearing kit, new 180 se high torque motor.
so first things first i had to buy a pinion puller, and it showed up today. so i got the pinion transered. and after a little shaving here and there, got the motor installed.

Too bad the wires are on the wrong sides and he's missing the clip.

Other then that, you might want some GPM for that beast. You'll be snapping those front/rear cups 24/7 ! Looking real nice, can't wait till the finish product is revealed!

I believe those motors you have to flip the brushes 180 deg, or just wire them up like he has them

Gen1! yes!

It's been a long time since I've seen a 180 Gen1 lol..

no, the flipping of the brushes is on the m1 endbells, i just have to either switch the wires, or when i put the deans on solder the black wire to match up with the red wire, and vice cersa

alright, i managed to get some soldering done, and got her all fixed up and tested out. come to find my batteries are extremely dead. from lack of use..... i seem to have been driving pretty much all my lithium cars lately.
but heres some pics. im still debating on keeping this body and throwing a nice paintjob on it or use a different body. dunno yet.

if i'm correct, that isn't top speed gearing, it's stock. on gen 1's the top speed is blue. looks nice so far, can't wait for the update with the broken parts....

it had top speed gearing (blue) in the first pic. an the second pic it had the high torque (white) gearing. so your both right. lol

yeah we are going to have to see what breaks, then replace as needed with gpm
