Any help at all with linking would be great. im using a micro t servo fo this
Wow. Weird, I was just thinking about this a couple of days ago. Looks good so far. And as for the steering, I had an idea when I was thinking about it a couple days ago, but I forgot. If I think of anything I'll let you know.
I was waiting to see of someone was gonna do a project like this :-P
lol yeah i was like screw it im goin for it lol. what do you guys think of it so far lol
I think it is a great project and you're on your way. As for a way to help you I'm not sure but I have to say I will watch this project closely :)
texan and noturday might have a plan lol. but it was kinda fun. any ideas for bodes or designs
For the steering you could probable just use the xmods servo on the front then on the steering behind it use the servo you want to use & just run the wires parallel to the board, so then they turn at the same time. As for a body i think some sort of tank would be cool, or get a truck & put a flat bed on it. :)
i want to use 1 servo so no way they cant be out of sync
Well with what your wanting to do, there is still a chance it wont be in sync, because you have extended the steering out farther so it has to do more to turn the second one than the first one.
for the body maybe you could go something like these

For the body I say unimog.
edit: Wait I just had an idea for the steering. I don't know if it will work. But could you flip the knuckles so the left knuckles are on the right and vice versa. And then link the 2 sides together. And then link those to sides together in the middle. That way when you move the middle link, all 4 wheels turn. Do you get what I'm saying? It's kinda confusing. But I could make a quick little diagram if you need. |
i like the second body best... :-P sweet job... are all the wheels gonna drive?
Why don't you use the two separate servos that are in the front part?
you could solder them together and have both of them running to the board. |

i kinda like the project, excited to see how it works out thats for sure |

yeah i chose the hard way lol..amortan can you make that diagram please
Actually I got to thinking about what I described and that won't work. All I can figure is either keep the knuckles how they're supposed to be, and just make some bullet-proof linkage, or do that and run 2 servos. I don't know. I'll think about it some more. Someone will eventually come up with something.
lol i tried what you said but it did not work then i read your last post lol. i already chopped up the second servo assemby so....i think i will try to find another servo assembly
