Xmod evo/street Extended wheel stud mod

So today we will be learning how to extend your wheels studs.
Difficulty: 4/10

Materials and tools:
normal RS axle stubs to extend
solder
soldering iron
screwdriver
needlenose pliers or similar (optional but recommended)
hobby knife
helping hands

Step 1: take your stock axle stub:

and put it into your helping hands:

Step 2:
heat your soldering iron up and put a tiny dab od solder on it so that it can transfer heat to the smooth axle part of the stub:

Step 3:
As you begin to see the plastic around the metal axle shaft melt and hear it begin to sizzle, the metal is hot enough. quickly unclip it from your helping hands and push through on the back with a screwdriver (if the metal is exposed on the inside. if not, pull gently on the metal part with pliers. this will extend your axle.

if it's not straight, use your pliers to adjust it before the plastic sets and cools.

step 4: observe how far you extended it and also use your hobby knife to scrape off melted plastic flash and left over solder:

be ready to make spacers to fit.

step 5: once cooled off and solid, re-install in your xmod and use the spacers to establish your desired track width:

i've done this mod to all four corners of this car.
gains range from 0mm to a reliable maximum of 2.5mm extra offset without buying different offset wheels

Happy modding!
