Project for others
This time I will be building a Mini-Z Overland truck for a member from another forum, its basically is to create a wide body kit for his F-150 body.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0885.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0886.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0887.jpg |
^ the gearbox just kills the ground clearance.
|
/\ the lego tires must are barely any bigger than the stock ones otherwise you would be scraping the ground lol, WOW the mini z bodies totally kill compared the the xmods.

Well, because of that, it gets stuck pretty easily, here's an example: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...M/P1000575.jpg See what I mean? Sorry for the thread jack Doc. Hope you don't mind. Your making a WBK so the tires are flush with the body? Wow, that's gonna be one really wide BK:roll_eye: Really, using some wheels that are a lil closer to the body will make life easier. Lol. But hey, considering your past projects, I'm sure you'll find a way.;) Later, T.I.M |

Update: The F-150 is back from the chop shop. (All cutting are done by hand, no machine cutting.) http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0888.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0889.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0890.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0891.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0892.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0893.jpg |
Hey this whole widebody thing is going to be a baja-like one right? not a low rider, because i would love to see a trophy truck!!!!, BTW very nice and clean cuts, cant wait til its done, lol with that much width it WILL be BEAST O.O
|
No Dremel is fail, but naise clean cuts. Must have taken a hour or two

Started a new project for another member over MZR. Its another S2000 project from me. This one is very simple, just need a little body work and a new paintjob.
This is how the body looks when I first got it. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1076.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...IMGP1077-1.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1078.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1080.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1082.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...IMGP1084-1.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1087.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1089.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1090.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1092.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...IMGP1093-1.jpg |
what happened to the f-150?
|
The F-150 still haven't finished yet, I am waiting for the owner of that truck to send me the OL chassis.
|
F-150 Update: Start to work on the front left fender, chopped up a lot of plastic and then fill it up with some putty. Also starting to add wheel well for the rear fenders.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP1136.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP1136.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP1138.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP1139.jpg S2000 Update: Have been spending a few hours into the front bumper, and this is how far I get now. Cut up the rear bumper for the exhaust and made the headlight looks more like the AP2 headlight. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1128.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1129.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1131.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1132.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1134.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...0/IMGP1135.jpg |

|

Update: Just got the chassis back from the owner yesterday, so I started to work on it right after.
I installed some Bridgestone Desert Dueler tires on the chassis. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0990.jpg Then start to work on the rear end of the truck. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0977.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0978.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0980.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0983.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0984.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0989.jpg The new wheel well is really deep so when the suspension compress, the wheels won't rub against the body. (I still have the make the wheel well for the right side) http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0991.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0994.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/IMGP0995.jpg |
Wow as usual Dr. Kustom makes us all look bad with our build skills..
lol jk looks sick i love the look of those tires. Can you put a comparison shot next to the swamper? |
How is the clearance on the front tires? May be just the angle of the picture, but it looks like there could be a rubbing issue at compression?
Looking sweet, though. Cheers, Kyle. |
yes a a pic of rear clearance too please. Are you doing this out of your kind heart or how much are they paying you? IF your doing this for free you are one cool guy!!! BTW where did those duelers come from?
|
APR s2000 nice! Nice work on the AP2 headlights! Is it staying red?
I need an s2000 body to match my car....hmm they are so hard to find :(. |
thats a good looking truck, the wide body kinda reminds me of the 2010 raptor

I charge $20 to work on any body, but it might be more depending on the job and you will need to pay for the materials. Quote:
