lol thanks for the early x-mas preasent? lol plz? |
:( Beat me to it... :(
Can't wait until mine shows up.. What are you plans? Keep it a crawler or use if for some scale stuff? Cheers, Kyle. |
Is it fast cause i would like to lower it and put the micro highroller tires and body on it
|
Its a crawler. Its not fast like a micro t at all it is somewhat speedy.
I want one so badly lol. Luckyzz |
ok managed to snap a few videos, its amzing how tall of things this will climb. the game box it just went right up on. and it trys taller things as well, main thing is keeping traction and making sure your not steep enough it topples over.

lookin good. I really want one for christmas lol. If you are finding that you need more weight in the tires you can pop them off and use solder wrapped around the rims for weight.
Can you get comparison pics next to a xmod car and truck :) |
well grabbed some pics as far as size comparison and heres what i got, same length as the hummer, smaller than my other 2 crawlers, titan and 4 runner, and then smaller than my titan snow truck of course.

An idea you can use if you want. I disassembled my charger and soldered in one of those plugs you see on the cheap rc cars and hollowed out the battery compartment. once i reassembled it I stuck a 9.6 rc car battery in it and thats why i use to charge the micro. It lasts about 10-15 charges but my 9.6 batts are going bad.

Looks great Zippo. Any plans to go scaler like I and many others have? You won't regret it ;) Also get that sucker set up in droop, it will really improve performance and help on those steeper climbs!

well i picked this up yesterday, its a fixer upper but so far ive got most things figured out what needs replaced, just need to pull the trans apart and see whats up with the output power to the rear. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3773.jpg list of needs rx (have an associated sc10 spare receiver) need to install shock as one is broke where it mounts to chassis, had to order in a set no power at rear wheels whenever you put a load on it. as in any load. still need to investigate. |
ooo ive always loved the mini crawler.. any palns on it? (maybe an L trail conversion from tsc? and turn it into a scaler?)

ok so the only advantage to being on the road all day long is being able to stop at some of the local hobby shops when im in other cities. makes it to where i can keep my stuff running and pay less and not have the hassle of my local hobby shop. so my goal tonight was to get the mini rock crawler running, and tomorrow night get the mgt. so up first had to replace the shock, then the stock servo seemed kinda crap, or the guy that had this before just abused it. lol could be either. and then of course i had to find some way to control this. so for the shocks i went back with the stock ones, cheap easy, blah blah blah. then the control part. i found my spare sc10 receiver that i had picked up a while back, and installed that with some double sided sticky, ran some antenna tubes and shrink taped a lot of it in place. lol. and then zip ties became my best friend. ha and then the servo. well id been reading get the mg645. and i asked the hobby shop about it and they confirmed, yes itll work, double sided sticky tape and good to go. since its a 1/10 scale servo. well the double sided sticky tape didnt hold it on its own, so after some tape again i zip tied it. seems to be holding up until i can get an adjustable setpoint remote.... this servo has 7.7kg a cm. so it has no problem turning the wheels. so heres some pics. enjoy http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3781.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3780.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3779.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3778.jpg |
Looking good, need to get a vid of it running.

well heres some comparison shots. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3782.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3784.jpg and i noticed that there was some spacers on the shocks, so i figured id remove them to give it a little more droop until i can get some different springs stock shocks w/ spacers http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3786.jpg stock shocks w/o spacers http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/100_3787.jpg as you can see, just removing those spacers gives you a 3/8" or so drop. |
well im going to be taking a good portion of the fleet out over the weekend starting with this one here in a bit. so i was testing it out chasing the dog and climbed the edge of the cabinet. i didn't realize these had so much articulation :)
