Project Trackstar
Picked up a totally stock street wit 370Z body from a friend for 10 bucks and decided to make a track car out of it while my r8 will be my show car. tore it down as soon as i got it home to do the body drop to lower the center of gravity (but more to make it look a lot better). made a custom front under spoiler and rear "whale tail". cut the rear window out to make room for the motor for the body drop, flipped the front mount clip, and glued in the rear tab on a custom spacer under the "trunk". did a couple of other small body mods (shaved emblems and got rid of the exhaust tips) and primed the body. just sanded it smoothed and going to paint it tomorrow after i pick up some paint after work.
*would have taken pics during all this but my batteries where dead and i just dove into the project http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...ckstar/pr3.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...ckstar/pr2.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...ackstar/pr.jpg |

thx going to place an order for a stilly chassis and lipo upgrade today or tomorrow and keep this project rolling (unlike project 8: still trying to track down some wheels that will look right with the widebody). i'm painting today as soon as i get home from work. going white with a flat black hood and roof
|
i really like the rear spoiler
|
i want to make this thing a complete track killer! here are the plans i have in mind:
electronics 2x2 FET Stack Lipo Upgrade Upgrade battery and motor wires chassis stilly chassis GPM aluminum dogbones GPM aluminum shocks (F/R) Soft treaded tires *any suggestions on what motor i should run? I want a quick but controlable ride with this setup |
NOOO!!!! you took my cars name.....well i guess its ok lol
How much weight do you plan on shaving? and for the motor I would recomend a Speedy-07BB from PN, it is a common track motor and provides well in both torque and top speed or maybe even PN's official 35t motor with these you cant go wrong, but if you want to go a step up you might want to try the Stock-R from atomic. Oh and as a side not awd is highly recomended (I didnt see it on your to-do list) Well have fun building |
That looks nice. I may have to go buy a 370 body...lol

sorry for taking the name. but i had a bunch of free time at work today so i picked up my paint on my lunch break (should have got food, im starving lol) just finished up the paint job.

Looking really good.
Can't wait too see it all done. |
I'm really impressed with this build.
I like the style you chose and I like the upgrades. The reverse skunk lol. White with a black stripe. |
added the small details like the lights and painted the wheels to match.

Detail the vents black and then I like. No like white vent. Very clean, just a little spot under rear left light needs to be covered.
