MA-010 Knuckle question

I was driving my Mini-Z around the house yesterday and I drove it into the wall breaking the front driver side knuckle. I still had the stock one's, so it was expected with my driving skills (or lack of skills). I was wondering what company I should go with to get the aluminum knuckles. Is there any real difference?

I personally like the ATM ones.

oh...and they comes with bearings.

3Racing- about 8$ a pair and your choice of regular MA bearings that are 9$ or so. Atomics, if I'm not mistaken, are 20$ a pair.

Just check reflexracing.net or toyeast.com

There's NO reason to overpay for parts that don't need to be "better" in order to perform well, like diffs for example.

I also concur with 3racing. That's all I use.

Last note- do NOT get PN ride height shims for anything but PN knuckles as they won't really fit stock/3racing style ones. I'd say get 3racing shims or atomic cheapies since they all do the same exact thing.

What do the shims do? HKShobby has the titanium Atomic Knuckles for $9 a pair. Should I get 2 pairs, 1 for the front and 1 for the rear, or should I leave the rears stock?

Get all because you're never really safe from people hitting your rear wheels. 9$ a pop actually sounds good. And like i said, ride height shims.

My bad. Thanks for the input

Are you still using that SAS rear? You wouldnt need rear knuckles in that case. Those that come with it are particularly strong.

SkylineLvr 06-04-2009 05:12 PM

I'm not using the SAS rear anymore. I didn't have a good feel for it. I ended up giving it to a guy at my base since he was starting to get into Mini-Z's. I figured since I don't use it, and it was given to me, I would pass it along. Sux though, he ended up getting orders to another base. We didn't even get a chance to race each other.
