http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/005-38.jpg i can use the stock mounts: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/004-47.jpg completely adjustable! painted the cab, got rid of that pesky hole on the hood: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/006-37.jpg got those holes taken out, he cab still needs 1 more coat of primer then sanding and its ready for paint. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/007-32.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/009-21.jpg however there was one body piece that was ready for paint.... http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/003-48.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/006-38.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/010-16.jpg its a bit hard to see the true color because of the lighting but tomorrow i will try to get some daytime outside pics. keep im mind this is without clear coat. and im my opinion i dont think this turned out too bad for my first metallic paint job was running some prices. its amazing how much these little rigs cost over time... - Axial Dingo kit- $250 - Dingo aluminum arms- $10 - Proline silverado body- $40 - EXI metal gear super torque servo- $15 - Integy 128mm shocks- $45 - Traxxas red T-Maxx springs- $7 - Hot Racing driveshaft retainers- $7 - 3Racing 1/10 winch- $35 - Blue Li-Po 1300mAH 2s Li-Po (2) $15 each so- $30 - Kyosho 30T motor (from the 80's LOL) (free) - RC4WD 4CH radio system- $90 - Novak Rooster ESC $90 - Yea Racing Li-Po buzzer- $10 - Axial Black/chrome beadlock rims- $35 Body: toyota Hilux- $71 primer- $6 color coat- $7 clear coat- $7 Total: $755 and still have to spend another $40 on body parts for the Hilux. |
looking pretty sweet winner...i took a little more interest when the hilux body came out ;0p ...that blue looks great as well...good luck with this :)

lol and yea, i has to get rid of that chevy body so it was down to the D90 or Hilux, so i had to choose hilux. im having a blast working on it though, loads easier then 1/24 scale  |
added accent stripe with some metallic black :D
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/002-57.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/001-60.jpg |
hope floyd approves of this :D
update clear coat on the Bed. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/001-61.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/002-58.jpg still gotta get some Matte black for the bed liner. but right now i really cant afford it so i'll dig through my truck tomorrow after school and see what i can scrape together. cab painted too. it gets accent stripe then clear coat tomorrow. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/003-49.jpg questions/comments/complaints/the rest. |
O.o ... i will wait til she is all put together ;0p
are you going to black out the wheels? is the toyota or any of the other trim getting painted black>? |

but about the rims, in a perfect world i'd have these in White or black not sure yet. probably will be awhile though =/ http://store.rc4wd.com/OEM-Steel-19-...tion_p_76.html |

maybe a small can of REAL bedliner is available somewhere...hmmm.... i think those white steelies would look good on a darker...and more of a beater rig...like with mismatched body panels and stuff...i think that lighter blue and that stripe could use the black to set it off... take your time..i will beat your butt if you start rushing this :p now you and Dr .K have me trying to figure out what all i can sell to generate enough cash to get one...GRRRR...too many hobbies and too little cash... |
the bumper would be cool but im not so sure if i can afford the tools right now xD
i've looked around but all i can find is the line X shop and im not too sure that would come out too well xD but for now flat black will work just fine, i dont have the money to do all i want to the truck at once so i'll add something new each time i rebuild. probably be picking up a drop bed from Pardonmyn00b on scale 4x4 next time yea im with you on the black but again no money so maybe for christmas :P lol i really get what you mean about the money. im looking for a job and burning $40 of gas a week and its really not helping that i just lost the 3rd gear shifting solenoid in the merc so its revving real high in 2nd then slamming into 4th and then instead of 5th it goes into overdrive =/ but i've been getting $5 every 3 days on this website like lockerz for setting up a refresher while i sleep xD that's how i've been getting money xD |
final coat of paint has been laid. i also painted the window rail thingy... i forget the name because its too late at night and i've been working with spray paint all afternoon xD
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/002-59.jpg also got paint for the bed. Matte Black my *** >.< http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/004-49.jpg |
That's looking good.. I'd be to afraid to take it out with that body after all that work. I'd have to get another body for a beater.

went out to get some pics today: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/003-51.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/004-50.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...007-Copy-1.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...008-Copy-2.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...009-Copy-1.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...010-Copy-1.jpg still some work to do, but its getting there :) |
ok so did some thinking....
i dont have a good place to mount my 3racing winch externally, so i'd have to do it internally but then i got to thinking, if no one os going to see it then i can do something much stronger and this is what i came up with :D http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/001-64.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/004-51.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/003-52.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/001-63.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/005-41.jpg winch still not mounted, but that comes later. but i ordered the final bits i need except for windscreen cause i ran out of money. |
ok so came home today to find my lenses sitting on my work desk so started painting them and got them on.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/004-52.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/001-66.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...erz/005-42.jpg i am very happy with how the truck is turning out, especially for not having any plan and just going with the flow. still got some stuff in the mail. |
looking good...nice to see the details going in...any chance of painting the inside of the wheels and the green beadlocks black?
i am still on the hunt for one of these...selling stuff off atm to fund it LOL |

but dude go check out RC Tech got mine in a trade for by Blitz+$125 so it was around $250-ish but for the same price as the kit it had all the electronics, a nice esc, 2 batts, and a $80 radio system. you could probably get a roller for $125 and get a XL-5 esc and a cheapo traxxas controller with a super awesome T-pro servo and RC4wd motor for like $70 |
