Bad News for Xmods Lovers

today i decided to buy another bumblebee starterkit for extra parts but oddly couldn't find any at the first 2 radioshacks i hit up, they said they were told to pull them off the shelves. the third radioshack i went to still had them on the shelf, so i picked one up and the guy tried to ring it up and it wasn't in the system. his manager came over, looked into their emails and sure enough, an email was sent out on 1/11/08 (today) telling them that the Xmods are defective and to pull them off the shelves and send them back to home office...."the chassis will crack under stress" is the specific problem. i asked if i could buy them anyway, they told me no, they are no longer available for sale...if you guys need extra evo chassis, go pick up a couple if you can.

ya i noticed the before my baracade was even open it was broken but thats what spares are for!

I have both Barricade and Bumble Bee and so far so good *knocks on wood* But I do know of other members on another forum having issues with them being messed up as well.

This sucks cause it looks like this is the end of a good run. :(

crack under stress? well no duh! if you pu too much stress on any chassis it will crack.but pulling them off the shelves because some kid broke his, thats just wrong!!

my friend hit my camaro with his barricade full speed and my camaro broke more than his saleen did

and neither my friend nor my brother have problems with their barricades and i dont have problems with my bumblebee...that is retarded... *shakes head*

CobaltDude06 01-11-2008 06:21 PM

my first two barricades broke right after i got them my third one the one i have now works fine

carswell05 01-11-2008 06:57 PM

Chassis break under stress lol now im glad i heard that gives me a excuse to take mine back to the shop , mine didn,t break under stress mine broke becuase i raced a remote control monster truck and won but the guy couldn,t take it so he just drove over my xmod :D but the shop doesnt know that

monsterhunter 01-11-2008 06:59 PM

i have had no problems with either of mine i have ran them hit things full speed basically every thing and nothing that just stupid for pulling them off the shelves for that reason, i have only broken one chassis it was my tc this is so stupid.

guitarboy911 01-11-2008 07:07 PM

im safe tho...the people at my radioshack dont know how to work a computer... :]

firebird 01-11-2008 07:09 PM

what does that mean by "the chassis will break under stress"?

suicide_star 01-11-2008 07:27 PM

keep in mind that these are radioshack employees...the chassis cracking could be any part, they may be talking about knuckles cracking (which is a common problem) or the motor cradle, i don't know...but it was serious enough that 2 already pulled them off the shelves and the third one wouldn't sell me one, and they had quite a few in stock...

fieldfairy2 01-11-2008 07:38 PM

my barricade had a broken motor cradle and rear gear case when i opened it. I did some research and the parts are $6.

taiwanesekid05 01-11-2008 09:13 PM

Hopefully they are replacing the Xmods and making them better. That's what mid-production changes are for... Hopefully some RadioShacks will sell them cheaply. The funny thing is it's still on the RadioShack website... http://www.radioshack.com/family/ind...032062.2032402

Stampedekid 01-11-2008 09:27 PM

Well with my Bumblebee, it came without an antenna. The entire dogbone and wheel holder thing came off on all of my Bumblebee's wheels. I still can't get the wheels off. Stupid Bumblebee.

Lowrideit 01-11-2008 10:32 PM

Radio shack last night, Checken what all they had, I found a bumblebee, Completley upside down, in the box, without a body, I dindt say anything.. Casue the hippey at my local R.S ****es me off..... [ Sorry, ]

Stampedekid 01-11-2008 10:49 PM

Well, that's why I mostly switched to hobby-grade. Micro DT's are more fun just smaller, only RWD and faster stock, of and hobby-grade and pull wheelies right out of the box.

Sweed 01-11-2008 10:51 PM
