Project:H-Crawler
I wanted to do another crawler, but i didn't want to mess with the f-150 crawler, so i am using the hummer. I can compare this crawler with the F-150.:)
Electronics: will be using the stock board. 4AAA will be split up among the chassis, for cog, and traction. Servo: I have a JR sport SM 22 that was adapted for a micro t, it didn't fit my driving style, has tons of torque to move the tires. Transmission: mid(literally a mid motor) motor geared down, probably a custom wound 130 arm.or maybe i can get a hold of a DIY Crawler V2 motor. COG/Suspension: well i'll let you guess and find out as this build progresses. Tires, Aoshima Super Swampers on slammed rims, nice and soft. Just a teaser: http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...6-7615_IMG.jpg Lets just say, Lancer_Man and i have been talking;) |
looks good, whats with the straight axle thru the wheel, looks like a NEW and GOOD idea.!
|
Thanks. But i am not revealing anything just yet.
Update: I had a little bit more than 2hours of work on it tonight, I worked on xtrucks front, so the front is all done for the time being, besides steering. I have the right wheel base too. I ran into a problem with something, that should be an easy fix... but i can't think of a solution. I would ask for help but i want this to be secret, unless somebody guess what i am really doing and me guess 100% correct. So any guess to what i am doing? |
i think that you are, making a straight axle useing the center shaft. and much more. :D i know its going to be a crawler.

Cheers, Kyle. |

You and Lancer_Man has been talking? Most people on here have been talking, I'm talking on the phone right now to an autoparts dealer. lol.
I know the body will be pretty nice, but what custom body parts are you going to add, if its going to be a true crawler that does crawl. Maybe a custom tube brush guard, I can try and make one for you (if its nice, I'll give it to you free, but you would need to pay for shipping). I would love to see more picture, NOW, lol. |
I AGREE that would help my guessing, i am talking too, ha to GREEKONE about some parts and talking to my friend and my mom ha lots of TALKING
|
Groups are the way to go. ;)
Looking good. Solid axles are no easy thing...I really want to finish mine. Keep it up. |
Da**, I figured if I said something stupid like that, that somebody would post another picture, lol.

They are really hard, so do I!.:p Quote:
Update: I went out and got some more materials and a better glue, for the styrene. here is my old gearbox/solid axle system that i made. it was a prototype to test my ideas and for a template. I will be making a new one out of 1.5mm styrene, and add some new stuff. It is destroyed now for a template. It works like a charm. I had to trim the red gear that connects to the diff, so the driveshaft gear wouldn't bind with it. It works great i also did it to the front of the xtruck. http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...6-7616_IMG.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...6-7617_IMG.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...6-7618_IMG.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...6-7619_IMG.jpg thanks. |
looks wicked! !!!! can't wait to see the rest of the parts.

Modjjunky made a solid axle mod to his titan a while ago, IMO it's way simplier then building a whole new casing..but it seems like your on a good start. ;D |

thanks. I have been looking to find that site. That isn't a true solid axle but it acts like one. That is very cool though. Just way to confusing for me lol. My casing is actually pretty simple, and pretty easy to make. but whatever works! ;) |
yah, on scale4x4 those arent solid axles. they're more like covers for the arms and dog bones. but i can't wait to see this project finished
