i am making a racing hummer that can beat cars on track or in a drag race but its still kinda slow and tips over on turns it has suspension and motor upgrades i would add some weights but it would just get slower so tell me wat other mods i should add to the list

im trying to make it faster so far im going to get slammed wheels bearings

xmodificationer 07-11-2007 03:38 PM

well you dont need slammed rims to drag race it will just fishtail, try beating my PN scion:D

make a custom mount for the car body...i think its better for race/drag conditions...i think it might be a little lighter too..

turbo2092 07-11-2007 04:58 PM

ok but what should i do to make the handling better so it doesnt tip over so much

SkysTheLimit 07-11-2007 05:07 PM

If you lower the COG, and lower the ride height, it will not flip over as much.

Get wider wheels too. Not slammed.

kataklysm 07-11-2007 05:08 PM

drop the suspension and put car wheels so it will drop the center of gravity and improve handling

librarianliam 07-11-2007 05:25 PM

remove all extra weight...and if you can place it on the lower half of the car...will keep you from rolling in the turns...

turbo2092 07-11-2007 05:26 PM

so far im gonna get
-wider wheels
-bearings
and im gonna drop the body tell me if you come up with more ideas

librarianliam 07-11-2007 05:36 PM

do you want to be able to change out parts later??

turbo2092 07-11-2007 05:43 PM

maybe because i might want to make able to go offroad but probably not because in the fall they will have different ones so i might just wait for an offroad xmod

librarianliam 07-11-2007 05:49 PM

yeah i was gonna suggest permanently attaching your body pieces...and cut out all the mounts and just reduce some hardware weight...

turbo2092 07-11-2007 06:05 PM

that sounds good but im not ssure it will work because i want to change the gears for different racing styles

librarianliam 07-11-2007 06:21 PM

i was talking about body pieces...like from the body kits..

taiwanesekid05 07-11-2007 06:30 PM

i've tried driving my once 6 cell f-150 on my sidewalk, and once i reached near top speed, it would veer off then when i went to correct it, it would flip over...

noturday 07-11-2007 06:30 PM

he was talkin about under the body, you're gonna want to glue the body parts all together to make one single body then trim all of the unnessesary plastic out with a dremmel, this will drop weight and make more room under the body to lower it more if you can. if you're using car tires you should be able to make the hummer body ride almost on the ground which will lower the center of gravity a lot and help you an those tough corners, hope that helps, later

darkendblades 07-11-2007 06:32 PM

for more handeling in your hummer when its lowered i might ad a wider body kit to it some how to give it more stability and ofcourse a wider wheel base by adding the wider axle cups from the supensio tunning kit for the evo cars

turbo2092 07-11-2007 06:54 PM

ok so i should trim the body after i glue the lower part of the kit to it and widen the suspension and get wider wheels now what should i do about speed i got the stage 2 motor and was thinking about getting the bearing upgrade too

momo 07-11-2007 07:01 PM

yeah i would get the bearing upgrade also but for more speed i would go with a better motor instead of the s2 maybe a chilli with fets and a lith kit but for just stock batts and fets neo mag the baby
