Well we just got this for free from my uncle
It is a 1986 Dodge Colt
it has
1.5L 2BBL SOHC Inline-4
making maybe 40hp
4speed stickshift tranny

a trunk full of rubbish(that stuff is what has fallen off so far)

the good
it still runs and the tranny works very well.
gets xlnt gas mileage
a/c works somewhat

the bad
needs new cv axle
needs tune up
hood doesnt open
interior is falling apart
muffler is broken
very slow
radio is broken

the only reason we are keeping it si so that i have a car to work on and it can be used for short trips
we just bought a bunch of stuff for it the should be coming either this weekend or sometime next week.

yea.we actually bought an aftermarket muffler and some other goodies that will hopefully make is move just alittle bit quicket

dang you should try racing it against your xmod. i bet the xmod would win haha

to bad it isnt the turbo'd version of them those are kinda nice, now you have a geo knock off....oh wait geo copied dodge lol j/k atleast its free.

I would love to take that car off road !!

Looks like a ok car, but I wouldnt wanna be seen driving it to schhol or to parties.

You should, if you got enough money, to maybe to a nice engine swap or build that engine up. Would be like a really nice restore type of thing imo.

yea maybe,but im a "fast car" guy and this just doesnt cut it.But i dont have a job yet so this will have to do for now.
And a few problems with doing a swap is that the engine bay is small and there is also money,but i just dont think that this car is worth it.

Convert it to Diesel-electric or fry oil. Can you imagine how efficient that thing will become?

why dont you put a crx motor in because the motor is small and it might drop right in

It's no where near that easy.

And putting way more time and money into the car then it's worth. :lol:

i would make a balsa wood spoiler for it!

or make a a prerunner car. with 40hp

No offense but that muffler is going to sounds like crap, and probably look worse.

Is that all your doing is a muffler? You're going to see no horsepower advantages with just that, you need to do a full exhaust. Header, slightly bigger piping all the way to the muffler, and I wouldn't use that thing.

It's your car, do what you want.. but trust me, that muffler will gain you nothing other than the sounds of a thousand ****ed off weed wackers.

well what would you suggest????? a broken muffler or the new one???
and there are no full exhaust mods for this car.The car is getting new spark plugs,spark plug wires,air filter,etc.
And if it is obnoxiously loud then i can always sell it.

Well you can always do it the hard way. Which is do a custom exhaust. For example, custom headers and bigger piping and then you can get a MUCH better aftermarket exhaust. Cherrybomb, Magnaflow...

i could,but there is one problem...........money.ther is not alot to spend on this project,so anything really fancy is kinda out of the question

ok,so me and my mom went and got a few more parts today
First we went and picked up an order at kragen
we got a new mirror and fuel filter

Then we went about a mile down the road to autozone
we got a steering wheel cover,handbrake cover and a rear seat cover

then right as we got home the fedex guy arrived with my big order
A cv axle,Accel spark plugs,K&n oil filter,K&N air filter,shift knob,front seat covers,belts,an ignition switch and MSD spark plug wires.

im gonna talk to my friend today and see when he can come over to help me start work on this project

learn to weld on this thing. if you mess up, you'll know it was just a freebie.

i think a custom exhaust would be cool. if you know how, and you make it, then you might be able to bump it to 150 horses.
